JP1 Remotes

No....

I swear I think I programmed these remotes with this cable before I upgraded to Win7.... (brain fart?).

Guess I'll get an adapter....

I know I'm not the first with this problem, and believe me - I've spent hours searching & reading posts before posting this ...

Using an RS 15-2116 remote, trying to setup a macro to toggle power on all devices which are:

- Onkyo TX-SR805 receiver
- SA8300HD cable box
- DTV H23-600 satellite receiver
- Pioneer 510H DVR
- Sony Bravia KDL-V32XBR2 LCD TV

Just got the new Onkyo TX-SR805 receiver (which is very nice so far). Anyone know if any of the exsting Onkyo files works well with it?

OK... up until now I just felt a little ignorant on this stuff.

Now I feel just plain stupid.

My bad - I made a TYPO in that post... I DID actually try programming the remote manually to 1377 to match the setup code jon used in his upgrade, but it wouldn't take it - display said "Not Found". Then I changed the setup code in the upgrade to 1392 & uploaded to the remote & it worked.

And ...

I did change the SAT code to 1377 in the GENERAL tab in IR... the remote just it just didn't accept it when I uploaded for some reason. Anyway... it's working now with 1392 & I'm happy!

Had to tinker with it a little bit however (which with my very limited knowledge is quite dangeroous!).

When I loaded your file into KM, it came up as a 1594 remote. I changed it to a 2116, & saw that the codes & protocol data changed some, so I figured that was the correct ...

I was wonderin' that myself capn. I guess Mark is right. I assure you I didn't do it. As you have probably seen... I have a hard enough time just tryin' to get a blasted file link done correctly!

OK... I've gotten confused also (as to which buttons are learned to which) so I started over clean.

I first did an OPS RESET on the 2116 remote, then uploaded the data from the remote to IR. This should be its "stock" settings, right?

I then made a list of all the buttons on the SAT Remote ...

In answer to your question re instructions on how to communicate with other components....

The manual instructs you to have the mode switch set to DTV, bring up the system menu on the TV screen, selcet on-screen the name of the mode switch you want to program (AV1, AV2, or TV), then choose ...

In the 2nd file the original buttons that I learned...
