Thanks for the help

I appreciate you cleaning things up for me. I've been on the receiving end since the days of ReplayTV so it's about time for me to contribute.

I did it! Used RMIR and created a rmdu file from my learned buttons. It works with the TiVo Roamio. I'll try to upload it to the file section.

Update

I downloaded IR v8.04. I learned how to get my RCA RCR05B to learn IR codes. I "learned" most of the codes from the TiVo Roamio remote. I uploaded the remote into IR.exe and saved the file with the learned codes.

Interestingly the "learned signals" were listed as TiVo protocol.

Need to read up on ...

Thanks for the reply

I used JP1 back in 2000, 2002, 2006, 2009, 2012, and again now. 2009 was when I got my new RCA remote and USB cable. 2012 I updated IR.exe and it has worked every time I wanted to change a button or add a device.

I'll be upgrading to the latest version but just wanted to know if there was a code ...

SA 8300HDC Discrete Unit Codes

I have two SA8300HDCs on the same TV. I have used JP1 to program a "swap" key that sends on first press a power code, input Component 1 code, next press it sends a power code, input component 2 code. The one power code cuts unit A on and unit B off at the same time. As long as I keep the source in ...

No, I did not know that. I did use the shift-# in macros to test and that did not work either. I am assuming the setup key is the shift key.
Thanks for the info.

Remote RCRP05B trying to add Sony descrete codes - FIXED

My Sony Bravia LCD works with the remote's internal code 0810, except there is no way to change the input without cycling through the choices.
I used RM with the Sony KDL-4054100 TV.rmdu which has the descrete codes and changed the remote to be the RCRP05B. I set all 9 descrete inputs to the number ...

Added the code to my RDF and now my macro keys work and IR allows multiple definitions for the same macro key.

Ya'll are really good! Now I'll start looking for how to get descrete keys for swapping TV inputs tied to buttons.

I can't get anything to work on Micro1 & Micro2. Even using the setup 995 I can't get anything to program to those keys. Oh well, lots of other keys to play with if I'm willing to shift.

Thanks for the help.

That works! I now have a 5 sec delay tied to [Shift-Pause] in special protocols. I can use it in Macros, but only certain keys can be assigned. [D-green] and [skip fwd] work but not macro1 or macro2. I'll work on trying to figure that out.

Thanks for the help.

I should have written "I picked Device = Cable, Key = Pause, Shift = checked".

Thanks for trying.

That worked for getting PAUSE protocol $01FB into IR. When I go to Special Protocols tab and try to add a new one, under target I can pick Cable, Pause, Shift but there is no way to tie it to the new protocol. The parameters section is blank and all I can do is check the Hex box, but that doesn't ...
