Re: Problem with newest tools ?

Yes, I know. But when I load my .ir file, the Protocols window is empty with the new RMIR. It seems OK with IR 8.03.

Have used JP1 for a long time, but not for last few years. So, I downloaded the latest versions of the main tools to see if all my files work.
IR 8.03 looks OK. But RM IR (1.32 ...

Problem with newest tools ?

Have used JP1 for a long time, but not for last few years. So, I downloaded the latest versions of the main tools to see if all my files work.
IR 8.03 looks OK. But RM IR (1.32 ?), when I load the same .ir file, there no protocols on the the Protocols window. The RAW Data window looks OK.

I'm ...

I don't know what you mean by short remote. The 1067 and 1167 remotes are exactly the same size. The 1067 is a silver color and the 1167 is dark(gunmetal?) grey. The OK/Select key is dark grey on the 1067 and red on the 1167. Again, the new one has a label inside that says 1167, not 1067B. in fact ...

mdavej,
Haven't tried that yet, might be in a few days. I am using KM. Haven't used RM much. When I open it it says it can't find images for the remote (1067Bx3 JP1.3). I forgot where/how to find the images and where to save them. I assume it is the same images as the 1067A.

Another question. When ...

I just added the Downloaded IR file for the remote to the Diagnosis Area. Download1167remote.ir. I haven't done this before so I hope I did it right.

Thanks Rob and vickyg2003 for looking at this.

Thanks everyone for replying. Here is what I have found with more detail.
Yes, I was able to download the 1167 to IR. But none of the key moves I have in the 1067 remote work. I started by trying the "famous" 30 sec skip.

Most fortunately, the 3400 Motorola Cable Box is programmed to use both ...

New ComcastRemote 1167

I was able to get the new Motorola 3400 Cable Box which has a new remote, 1167 (as opposed to long used 1067). FORTUNATELY, it appears the 3400 Cable box is programmed to work with either the old or new remotes so OK for now. I can download the code from the remote to IR (JP1.2). I tried my key ...

Yes, the remote is JP1.2
A nominal one second delay would be good, I can always string a few.

Pause Protocol for RM

My remote is a URC-1067, Comcast DVR remote. I got the rdf file for this and selected it with RM (1.83). Under Protocol I do not see the Pause Protocol like in KM. There was a post last year that said it was there in RM between Panasonic and Pioneer. I don't see it. Is it possible because of the rdf ...

Rob, I understand what you are saying. My remote, Comcast URC-1067 has only 3 device keys, Cable, TV, and AUX. In the instructions for the remote it says to use the AUX for DVD, VCRs, RCVRS. There is no DCD/VCR button. So perhaps I could change the TV button to AUX type, but using the original AUX ...

Keymoves do not require that the setup code that they refer remain programmed to the device button. So, for example, you could...

1) Program DVD/0539 to the device button.
2) Program a keymove to a button
3) Program some other setup code to the device button, and the keymove from step 2 would ...

Re: Adding devices

Not sure I fully understand your suggestions.
Yes the remote (URC-1067, not 1967, my mistake) has a built in setup code for the DVD (0539). I set up a keymove for PLAY for example with a device type TV with a setup code of 0539. But since there is no device button set up (says <NA>), how do I invoke ...

Adding devices

Thanks to everyone helping with my previous post, "Keymap Master remote definitions". I've got everything working and my Comcast remote is now my universal remote. Now on to the next challenge.

Don't know if this can be done. The comcast remote (URC-1967) has only 3 Device Buttons. In general I use ...

Finally. If all you need are the discrete power codes, do this...

1) Go to RM and start a new upgrade
2) Select your remote (ie, URC-1067)
3) Select a device mode and enter a setup code.
4) Select NEC1 as the protocol
5) Enter 128 as the device code
6) Enter 112 as the sub-device code
7) Go to the ...

If you are trying to add an upgrade, please state which one and provide a link to the file so we can all look at it.

I am using https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=1616
for the data to manually copy to IR. For now, I am only trying to program 2 functions, power ON ...
