I heard the same thing. I stop by RS about once or twice a month just to watch for deals on the 15-2116 and they had it marked down just like you said. The salesperson told me the same thing. He said RS was discontinuing it because it wasn't programmable enough.

I couldn't help myself, I had to ...

Thanks David. I find that I learn the best when I try to teach someone else. This was the best way for me to dig into Extender 2. What a great tool that is! I really appreciate all the work others have done to make these remotes so powerful.

Yahoo tells me "The disk space allotted for this community is not big enough for your file.".

The tutorial is a Word document with lots of screen shots from IR. It's 762KB big, and only zips down to 659KB - probably because of the screen shots.

Is there any place else to upload it?

Extender 2 tutorial I've written

Rob, John, et al,

I've written a tutorial for using Extender 2 on a 15-2117 and would like to submit it for your review. I think it would be a handy document for those, like myself, that are new to the extender process. If it looks helpful you could place it somewhere for others to use. Let me know ...

15-2113

I'm pretty sure the answer to this is no, but....

I've done a lot with the 1994 and 2116/2117 so I'm very familiar with Jp1/ extended codes, etc.

My daughter was given an old Mitsubishi TV to take with her to college. There was no remote with it so I bought a cheap 2113 that works 99% of the way ...

Mike,

You are 100% correct. When the doc said "5-bit device code" I thought it meant binary! I just tried "1 26" and "2 26" as you suggested and everything is working great. :D

Thank you VERY much,

Sony 12/15/20 device 26 and KM

Hmmm, I've been playing stump-the-dummy and I've lost....

Sony's DVP-CX985V 400 disc changer uses the Sony20 protocol, device 26, with sub-devices 73 & 98. For example:

Power: Sony20,dev=26,sub=73,obc/efc=21/79
Folder: Sony20,dev=26,sub=98,obc/efc=64/34

So, to create a device with KM 8.27 ...

Old Panasonic PT-M1085 projector and GAP-438-1017-56?

I'm trying to setup my dad's older home theater on a 2117. Everything works except his Panasonic PT-M1085U projector (mfg March 96). With fresh batteries in his remote I learned a couple of keys and IR reports a protocol of GAP-438-1017-56? for each learned key.

I then found a ccf file for this ...
