JP1 Remotes

I've got a 2116/7 with extender2 on it. Everything works great but I was wondering if this would be possible.

I'd like to be able to switch outputs from the remote with a single button. This way I could choose between 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i (there are a couple other options as well)with only 1 ...

Before I pick this unit up I wanted to see what my options are. I can get it for a song from a freind BUT he lost the remote awhile ago. Is there any chance the stock 2116 remote codes would allow me to control it? ie. punch in the 3 or 4 digit code and presto I got a remote that works. I might not ...

I'm sorry I forgot to mention I already have a RS 15-2117. Right now it's just setup by the manual that comes with it. No macros or anything, I just used the device codes in the book relating to my equipment.

I've been reading the posts and the faq. The recent post by sic0048 is very similar to what I want to do. What I'm not sure of is if I MUST use an extender to do it and if it's possible.
