You're right. The keysets are internally coded. There are some examples of old extenders show how you can include a table w/ new keysets but it would take up a lot of space and take away the space for keymoves and devices.

It takes a lot less space to use the internal table and override the keys ...

How much of the Key Move space are you using? Have you tried using Keymoves instead of building completely new upgrades?

Even though they aren't on the original remote, there discrete input codes that you can use for this TV without requiring a macro.

This thread on RemoteCentral explains how to access them from the original Hitachi remote (so you can learn them) and also gives the OBC's and EFC's for them as well ...

Going forward it will make things easier.

These are just some quick easy things to test. The next step it will be very helpful to have the source, and we'll start back w/ the original version again.

Right now, I'm trying to keep all of the code the same length so the offsets in the rdf file don ...

leres,

Let's try another experiment where we hard it so every key gets treated as a shift key.

In line 00E0 you should find the hex string
44 4c a3 (OR R_MacLast, R_SFlags ;Shift the key if flag is set)
Change it to
46 A3 80 (OR R_MacLast, 80 ;always shift the key!)

This change essentially ...

That looks like the location in the v2.2 2k extender. Until I upgrade the eeprom I'm stuck with the v1.1 1k extender. In that one, B0 4C appears in two places. The first occurance (row 00C0 columns 0E and 0F) is preceeded by the same bytes (FB 7B 09) so that's probably the one. I zeroed out B0 and ...

Oh, I get it now. There isn't a native shift key on the remote, right?

Anyway, the first thing to try is to take out the code which resets the shift after a timeout and try that.

Go into the Raw Data tab in IR and go to the row 07A0. Go to columns 0E and 0F. They should have the values B0 and 4C ...

Speaking only for myself, I can say that I started to hold back on a lot of the extender threads when I noticed several others stepping up. I must admit my patience started to run a little thin after answering the same RTFM questions several times and it was nice to see newer members helping out ...

First let me start out by saying I have neither the remote nor did I write the code. I see a couple things in the code that could be happening but without the remote I can't do any tests so I'll need you to do it.

First, the byte holding the shift could be getting overwritten by either the ...

Here's the key mappings as described in the manual for the 8910. Well almost. It looks like One For All copied from the 2116 manual too. They still reference the Last Key instead of the Prev key. :-)

Trans = Rew, F.REW, Play, Fwd, FFwd, Rec, Stop, Pause
Vol = Vol+, Vol-, Mute
Chan = Ch+, CH ...

If there are a lot of keymoves and macros, that's my guess as to playing a part.

Although I never noticed it until I looked for it, when I compared the response of my extended remote w/ ~80 keymoves and macros w/ a non-extended remote w/ no keymoves, the extended remote had a slower - but still ...

Re: 2116 ext 3 question - can I access XShift keys?

Thanks, do you know of a way to keep the display from displaying the mode/device when you press a key? For example, lets say I program CBL as my Tivo and I have it say TIVO when selected, but when you press a key, it might change to MISC 0123 or something for a little bit. Is there a way to prevent ...

So essentially he's doing a quick double press, a long press (at least as long as your first delay), and an even longer press (at least as long as the sum of your first and second delay). You're right. If that's what he is doing, it seems to me like that should work too.

But my explanation just ...

Sorry, I didn't realize that you posted your file already. If my earlier comments don't work, I'll take a look at it.

As for why you are having more luck w/ the keymoves instead of the macro, IR stores the macros first in memory and keymoves second. That means that the extender will find the macro ...
