well, it depends on the number of channels you have, but if you have less than 114 and have an extender on your remote, you could create a couple of macros.

SKP on the 4 button = channel 3, channel up
LKP on the 4 button = channel 33, channel up (although you stated there is no channel 44 in your ...

You might find it easier to simplify your programming and get the same results. Here is how I have my system hooked up (I think it is a fairly common setup).

A long key press of a device key will turn on all equipment and change settings to use the applicable device (ie DVD, CD, VRC, etc). It does ...

Disappearing Extender?? Remote reverts to non-extender mode

I have a 8910 remote that I've programed with the extender. The remote works great, but recently it "looses" the extender occationally. What I mean is that you will pick up the remote, and it will work without the extender software. It works as expected in this mode (you can even hold down the setup ...

Well, I had a little time to work on it last night and I'm proud to say that I got everything working! Thanks for everyone's help.

I guess I'll use it for a while and find out a few more things to do to it to make it better. But atleast it works.

Thanks for the help Matt. The pause sounds extremely easy to use. I guess I was just trying to make it harder than it needed to be. Once I understood the LKP (with the duration, etc) then the pause made sense too.

Now I have to review my macros that I was working on last night (used to power up the ...

OK - I've read through the LKP material one more time and used the extendercalc spreadsheet (I only have Excel access at work) and I think I have it down now, but wanted to post my thoughts.

For the Power Key LKP here is what I want: a short power key will toggle the power for that device and a ...

You can also try to e-mail UEIC at help@ueic.com according to something that I read. However, I e-mailed them several days ago and still haven't heard back. I'm not sure if they are just slow, or if they no longer give out that sort of information. You need to provide them with the type of remote ...

OK - I agree your way is better. So here is my updated list.

1. Short Device Key - puts remote in that device mode. (however - transport and volume keys are dynamic - ie if you go back and forth from DVD to receiver modes, the transport and vol keys will always control the DVD and receiver ...

Common ideas or upgrades for your remote.

Hello everyone. I'm new to the group, but well on my way to programming my OFA 8910. I will soon be working with the extender to get the remote to work as easily as possible for normal people to use (read my wife).

Here is what I am looking at doing and I would appreciate any advice.
1) normal ...

Will using a discrete OFF command mess up a TOADTOG

I'm new to all this, so I'm sorry if this is a little basic.

All of my equipment has discrete On and Off EXCEPT my Onkyo receiver. It has discrete off, but toggle on only (and I've researched this quite a bit to know it is true - Onkyo HT-R510).

I am looking at building some power macros and ...

A little off topic, but I just wanted to mention that I've never noticed the red led blink on my OFA 8910, but it also "paints the LED black" just after an upload. So I have to assume that it is reseting the remote and the led just doesn't blink. It does blink on any button push that send out a IR ...

I also have a 8910 and I'm just getting into the programming scene.

Actually, a good update will make the remote easier to use for your wife. Here is some of the things I am looking at programming into my remote.

1 - pressing a device key will turn on all the necessary equipment and change the ...
