The short answer is yes you can assign macros to the device keys.

I would recommend that you read the reame.txt file that comes with the extender. The extender changes how the device selection is done so you may have to adjust your macros slightly. It is all explaned in the file.

Stick with it Hotshod. It is a lot to learn in the beginning but after a bit of a play it does become clear and is a very useful tool.

Firstly, no you can't kill the remote.

No, I have an 8910 (JP1.0).

I haven't seen any of these new fangled remotes down here in the back docks.

The circuit is very straight forward, there are no special requirements for the parts so I don't think you should have any trouble.

RS part numbers.

Q1-Q4 = Either #276-2058 or #276-2016 which are 2N4401 or 2N3904 respectively

C1 = #272-1069

D1-D3 = #276-1620 which is a pack of 50 but I can't see an option to buy 3 individual diodes cheaper than these

Do they both respond to the same power on/off command or can you turn each one on and off individually?

If you can turn each one on anf off indiviually then there is some hope of a work around that may not be perfect but is probably better than nothing.

First use a single toadtog to just record the TV's state, either TV-mode or Video 1. When my TV turns on it always goes to TV-mode so I always start from a known state. In my power on macro I set the state of the toadtog to TV-mode. If your TV operates in this manner ...
