The GP565 includes flash according the block diagram on the product brochure. There seem to be a couple test points that aren't part of other traces--I will try to see if those are TTL UART. It appears to be made by UEI and uses the same codes.

From the web:"Universal supplies Comcast with the XR2 ...

Comcast/xfinity XR2 remote hardware

Hello. Has anyone hacked this remote? It uses a GreanPeak GP565 communications controller for the IR and RF transmission (zigbee rf4ce). I can't find a datasheet for this IC, but the product brochure shows I2C, SPI and UART interfaces with a XAP5 microcontroller core. The hardware seems interesting ...

Comcast 1067 with common extender 3.03 - RMIR issue?

So I was trying to migrate my older extender to the newer common jp1 extender. I deactivated the old extender (i think) and did a 981/980 reset to install the newer extender into the base config. The problem is once I merge the extender, the "devices" tab doesn't work at all. Currently running RMIR ...

Just want to close this topic--I discovered that the original problem of not being able to load the jp1serial 0.20 library went away once I upgraded to mac os 10.10 (yosemite). Maybe having a couple versions of java installed helped--not too sure--but it seemed to work even with apple java 1.6 ...

I tried a couple different developer packages, but couldn't get the headers to appear anywhere. So I decided to try the headers that are installed with Xcode at the following location:

/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/MacOSX.platform/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.10.sdk/System/Library ...

I am getting a missing jni.h error when trying to compile jp12serial.

I can't seem to get the header files installed for apple java 1.6. I have installed the developer package from developer.apple.com that is supposed to include headers, but /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.frameworks/Headers ...

Thanks. I am using an interface with a cloned FTDI (cheap ebay stuff). I have a genuine FTDI also, but I haven't tested it yet. It's an eval board with header pins so I need to make up a cable to test with.

I was trying to install the jdk files to see if I could compile the jp12serial library for 1.6 and ended up messing up my whole java installation. I can't get the java app to run now and the installer removed the java preferences app. I might try messing with this more later to see if I can make ...

I don't have a compiler installed (yet), but took a quick look at the mac os makefile. It looks like it includes java 1.7 JDK libraries, which I don't have. I am running apple java 1.6. Oracle has not released java 1.7 for mac os 10.6.8--only 10.7.3 or newer. For some reason, I don't even have the ...

I am having this problem with RMIR v2.03 alpha 28. libDecodeIR also failed to load, but libhidapi loaded successfully. I downloaded a fresh copy today but it's possible the problem is on my end.

The libjp12serial12 file that worked is 0.19--this one: http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php ...

Comcast jp2 remote requires reboot after download/upload

This isn't a major problem--I noticed that my comcast jp2 remote seems dead (no blinks responsive to button presses) after a download or upload. Multiple downloads/uploads work even though the remote seems dead connected or disconnect from the interface cable (so it's not dead, just not blinking as ...

rmir on mac os 10.6 failing to load jp12serial

Hello all,

I know this is a solved problem for yosemite (and I need to upgrade) based on the filename, but I noticed a problem in 10.6 as well. I don't think this has to do with the filename. The jp12serial library is failing to load, but copying the file over from an older installation fixes the ...

Are there any markings in the battery compartment that differentiate the jp1.3 and jp2 versions of this remote? My older jp1.3 has number RC1475505/04MB on the label, but I don't know if that is significant. I was thinking about going to eBay for the jp1.3 if possible. Comcast seems to have moved on ...
