A few broken buttons
I have an ancient 6800 that's served me extremely well 'lo these many years, but lately a few keys along the right edge just won't work (3 PiP, tv/vcr, and the setup buttons).
I opened it up, and I didn't see any obvious problems with the traces in the area. The pads under the buttons are fine ...

9910 and USB cable trouble
So, I went to monkey with my settings on my 9910 this evening, only to be stopped by the dreaded ""SDA is being held low" error. I've been trying various things, fresh/not-so-fresh batteries, etc. I wasn't sure exactly which way the cable went on the JP1 connector, so I tried it either way. But ...

Getting back to an older thread, if anyone is interested, I started a small wiki at Wikia. It's got some basics starter info. I hope to expand it a bit more, as I've been getting the itch to tweak my remotes even further.

A wiki?
I was wondering, if there had been any thought into perhaps forming a wiki section for all the documentation? That might spur more documentation for beginners, as other beginners like myself, slowly get a handle on all the things JP1 remotes can do.

I have done more playing with the television. Several of the keys I had learned apparently were done while in DVD mode, for whatever default DVD the remote is programed to use. So I put those keys back to device 2 to get them to work.
Since that leaves only eight keys using device 6, and they are ...

9910 Power resets
I have a rather young 9910, and lately it has been going through power resets. I have it rigged with the extender, so most of the time I pick it up and it's in non-extender mode as it reset and I wasn't around to hit the power button.
At first I figured the batteries may have been coming loose, so ...
