Capn Trip,

Thanks again, I have made the changes and everything appears to be working great now. I also figured out that I had the same problem with my Audio Mute ToadTog I was calling MUTE instead of XSHIFT-MUTE (the always muted ToadTog)

Well, shift-cloaking wasn't the problem (although I ...

THANKS Capn Trips,

I think you hit the nail on the head. I will test it later today and verify.

I did use Shift-Cloaking in other areas and I just over looked it in my ToadTogs. I guess it was getting late and the old brain was not working 100%. I also like your idea of adding the Dev_XXX before ...

HELP

OK I have been working on LKP protocol but it is not working to well.
I have been using KM 8.38 and IR 6.15

The main problem seems to be with my DVD and VCR Devices that do not have Discrete ON/OFF commands. (Seems to work fine if all the devices in the macro have actual discrete codes)
When I do ...

Thanks Capn Trips for your config I'll review it and see what I can learn from it.

I did review the post about how to post links to the Yahoo files (I had actually read it before but forgotten about it, sorry) Thanks Rob for fixing my link.

I was also just looking for interesting ideas people have ...

Thanks Jeff I'll take a look at it and see what I can learn from it.

I also ran across the User Config files over at the Yahoo groups and downloaded this one: 2116_ex2mike3.ir

I then created a flow chart of what it is doing I uploaded it here:

greenough1,
Can you explain in more detail how you setup the DSM and LKP? I'm trying to get my head around this and I’m not quite there yet.

About your ToadTog question the answer is YES I did exactly what you are asking, this is from one of my previous posts and goes right along with my second ...

L/DKP question

Ok I started messing with LKP tonight, I was hoping to setup my Device Buttons to:
1. Run a macro and setup my Home Theater for that device.
2. Just change the control of the remote to that device mode.

I was thinking LKP would make this simpler than using shift functions.

I am trying to setup ...

Sorry about that after looking back over my config what I posted was wrong (I have edited it and it's right now). I think there is a problem with IR not displaying the data correctly, I thought I was noticing that last night when I was typing up the post but figured it was just me.
It did it again ...

I just pulled up IR (and RM) and selected the 8910 remote and Phantom1-3 are listed don't forget you can easily make these 3 into 9 by using shift and x-shift functions as well.

For the record I built my ToadTogs in IR and I have been using KM to build my device upgrades.
I started out with RM and ...

Ok here goes a brief explanation of how I setup my ToadTog.

MY VCR for instance is a Toshiba and has not discrete ON/Off.
It takes 2 entries in the SPCL PROT FNS tab to make this work one for ON the other for OFF
First entry
Device: VCR
Key: DisceteON
Type: ToagTog (MISC:1800)
Toggle#: 2 (use a ...

You are correct alot of the info in toadtog.txt is out dated. I first followed the instruction in there and then I could not find my keymove. Then I figured out it ended up on the other tab.

Yes I will post about it later tonight when I can sit at my computer and look over my config and explain it ...

Thanks Rob, I'll keep that in mind you also have the 6131's right? I was thinking one of them might be nice too since I have the showstopper and my DVD-recorder could use the skip buttons too.

I am getting pretty use to the 15-2116 layout and can pretty much do what I need to without look at the ...

The funny thing is I had started looking at universal remotes because my HT was getting to be to hard to use, there were so many remotes and switching from one thing to another was such a pain, most of the time I didn't even bother to turn on the Amp it was just one more thing to have to deal with ...

I think you would need the extender which is here

https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=1455

I have a similar issue:
For example, if I am watching a DVD, and then I want to switch over to cable, I can either 1) include the power commands in the macros, in which case ...

TOADTOG

Cowfan

Rob (as we all know) is right on the money. I have a similar situation none of my Toshiba gear has discrete codes so I used 3 ToadTogs to create them. It was actually very simple once I got into, the only confusing part I had at first was which box to put the power command in on the Spcl ...
