Tested, working. Did the same thing with the Boxee. I don't have to update my remotes too often, so I sometimes forget steps. I like being able to do the whole thing, from capturing, to completion, on my own. Forgot about having to add the protocol. Guess it happens when I only do this once every ...

Ok, thanks! I have done this a bunch of times in the past, but I guess the Samsung protocol isn't built in to the 8910. This is the newest device I'm trying this with.

URC8910 & Samsung BluRay Player

So I'm going along, using IRScope, RemoteMaster, and IR to create a new upgrade for my 8910. I pick an open number to assign it to, 0673. Paste the output from RM into IR, looks good.

Every time I upload it to the remote, that upgrade doesn't set to the DVD button, and when I try to manually set it ...

Just picked up one of these from the Radio Shack in Newark NY for $6.97!

Now to hack the F out of it. :) I may do some small panel mount connector on the bottom of this, i'll think of something.

Looks very comparable to the URC8910's i have.

Just check the banner ads on this site, or check on ebay. So far, my favorite JP1/1.2 remote is the URC8910 (or 9910 for those who want RF).

It controls everything in my home theater system without a hitch. (Well, after making a couple upgrades.)

Walmarts by me only carry the non-JP1 versions of the OFA remotes lately. Same with Big Lots. There was a guy on ebay selling refurbed JP1 and JP1.2 remotes really cheap, free shipping (to the USA) over the holidays. I picked up a couple URC8820's, three URC6131's, and a URC6011.

The 6xxx's all ...

Having politicians actually not only admit their mistakes, but accept the penalties for doing so, would be welcome, too. Here in NY state, Comptroller Alan Hevesi, thought he could just get away with repaying the value of the services he stole from the state, and wash his hands of it.

If any of us ...

Or that's another way to do it.

I find myself making custom upgrades for lots of my components, as I'm not happy with the factory setup. I made a whole new upgrade for my Go Video Dual-Deck VCR, too. I'd rather do an upgrade than just learn a bunch of commands on my 8910.

I think I'm going to ...

Leftover cables from old computer cases work well, too. Most of them have 2 pin headers for power, reset, drive LED, power LED, etc... You can usually find 6 wires that you can use to build one, if you don't need it very long. I've done that before, just crazy glued three 2-pin headers together ...

Just for future reference... you can use a power supply with any current (A or mA) rating at, or above, what's required. So, you can use a 500mA, 600mA, 1A, 2A, 5000A, 4.71gA, power supply, as long as it's supplying 9V of electro motive force. :)

Parts Express, MCM Electronics, and uh...er... damn ...
