JP1 Remotes

My urc 8811 is just about dead. The remotes listed in the sticky post are a little outdated. what is the best jp1 remote (simple interface) still out there?

Just got a new PC and no parallel port. I am very proud of my JP1 cable, (i can barely solder) so I hate to get rid of it. Is there a parallel PCI card or USB adapter that the parallel JP1 cable will work with.

My 8811 is dying. I see that it is no longer available. I currently have the 6012 extender on the 8811. Will I be able to upload my saved ir.exe file from the 8811 to the 8910 and have an "out of the box" solution?

Does the 8910 have more memory than the 8811?

I cracked the locking clip on the battery cover for my URC-7800. I have tape holding it on, a real pain when trying to get to the JP1. Anybody know where I can get a new one?

I don't trust a decode of device 31, OBC 63. I think it is a decode error.

So where does that leave me?

The fan has two device codes 31 and 25 both under the Old Panasonic protocol.

The off and on buttons learned signal show the same signal,

Device 31
Sub device - blank
OBC - 63
EFC - 181 or 189 or 165
