Which way round?

OK, so it might be a thick question, but now that I have gone and actually built a serial cable (that's also part of the fun!), I dunno which way is the "safe" way round to plug the edge connector into my 7562. It could be that the direction doesn't matter, but my laptop is one of them costly SONY ...

The teletext keys are indeed mapped against some other keys. That is the case with my URC-7562 for instance. However, it is a bit confusing for me to "remember" which VCR keys is the equivalent of which teletext function, so I'll have to have a butcher of this. Just didn't want to have to do it all ...

TELETEXT and FASTEXT functions in KM

I noticed that KM does not have the (European) teletext and fastext keys listed in the LAYOUT and KEYMAP sheets. Are there any ways of getting these added to those sheets if I could submit that information to our Sensei?
Or is there a modded EU sheet out there somewhere?

I have spent some time between the yahoo JP1 section and here just trying to find the RDF for a URC-7562/B01 but no luck so far  . Am I unlucky that one isn't available for download, or am I looking in the wrong place?

Given a code set, look up the protocol, device number(s), subdevice number(s) and command numbers.
I need to look this device number, subdevice number and command number information up.If I get stuck, I hope I can come back for a clearer indication of what they are  .

The irda chips come in ...

One parameter that I can't find in those lists is the IR frequency of each code. If somebody knows if a table exists of those frequencies for the OFA codes, please let me know. I am in the mean time going to measure that frequency for the codes I can find on my URC-7562, and post them afterwards if ...

No, those spreadsheets just list the protocol and fixed data used by each setup code.

Could you give us a bit more information about the application you're looking to write, such as who would use it, and what would happen once they have selected a code.
Many years ago I ran into a URC program ...

The Devices.xls and Devices-dev.xls files are of great interest to me. I am new to this forum, so I wish to first read up on what those files actually mean, and if they actually contain what I am looking for.
Can someone advise me if those files contain the key codes of each key on the remote ...

Thanks for the information so far. I think that I at least have something to start from!

As far as intellectual property rights are concerned: OFA did not invent those codes they have in their handsets. They copied those codes from the original handsets form the OEM manufacturers. So universal ...

decoding the original remote control data

Hi there, just a big howdy 1st of all :D .
I would like to download the stored information (original manufacturer data), and study the code format etc of EACH code on my OFA handset. It happens to be a URC-7562, but that is not crucial to my question I think.
The reason I wish to do this, is so that ...
