Thanks 3FG! In terms of use case: I've used all of the inputs and have my DVD player hooked up to DVD optical and my PC hooked up to DVD analog. Neither are easy to shut off to use Auto as you suggest via a macro, and I'd be hard pressed to control their state with a toadtog... for now I've just ...

This may get over my head: I'm using a URC-6131N, but not with extender or with ToadTog (I don't know what those are, but would learn how to use, if it could help). To date, I've just copied protocols, made key moves, and other basics at this point: I forgot that "toggle" had a different meaning ...

Sorry that my first explanation wasn't clear. I'll try again:
The receiver has two connectors on the rear for a DVD: optical and RCA. The manufacturer supplied remote has a single button for DVD. When you press it, it switches to DVD and then cycles between "DVD Auto" and "DVD Analog" inputs. (Kind ...

Yamaha AV cycles through inputs: discrete or workaround?
My Yamaha HTR-5230 has physical inputs for analog and digital DVD (and also Satellite), but one button cycles between analog and auto(digital). So to switch between the inputs, I have to choose the DVD input button repeatedly. It also retains its state, so I can't seem to use a toggle.

The IR.exe I was shipped with the JP1 cable I ordered in June was ver. 5.05 which must be very old. I just downloaded the newest version (6.15 at the time of this post) and IR.exe worked perfectly assigning a few other buttons so the workaround should not be necessary.

Thanks for you assistance Rob and John! I'm still having trouble moving the key, however. Here's what I've done:
1. Verified that VCR/0045 with EFC 121 and 213 work (set the VCR button on my remote to setup code 0045 and then hit "set" followed by 121 and got the desired response). They do! (Still ...

Adding two button codes to existing setup code
I have a combo TV/VCR/DVD player: Toshiba MW27FP1 that responds to the following codes on my URC-6131 (TV-0156, VCR-0045, and DVD-1045). The original remote control, which I have has two buttons to switch between TV/VCR and DVD modes that are in none of the setup codes. OFA says there are no ...
