Thanks Robman, I had a Virgin 360 box before my equipment changed last week so I have already tried those commands. The 360 commands operate the V6 too as I have had one of those and used the same remote.

You are correct Robman, it is not sending IR signals, i didn't contemplate that there were other remote signals.
I've found that the remote works from a different room so it must be bluethooth. Does anyone know how these work to control my TV too which receives IR signals? Also are there ofa remotes ...

Hi, I have yesterday received a Virgin stream box after years of using the Virgin 360 with my JP1 remote, but this is a new equipment I have from Virgin. None of the button presses are being recognized by my JP1 remote when I try learning and no device codes are here for it. Any suggestions please ...

I contacted the lovely people at OFA for help and they advised me the remote is covered for 2 years which I didn't know. They discontinued the 7980 as it wasn't selling but are sending me a replacement 7955 which is 5 devices and also some other 8 device remote (think its the URC 1280) which isn't ...

...also yes I have tried removing all the batteries.
Removing the batteries is just step 1, the next step is pressing a button on the remote, did you do that also? (It's needed to discharge the capacitors, in case you're curious).

Yes, I knew from the previous post about discharging the ...

Ed I have this issue with my URC 7980 and did create a post to see if anyone could suggest what I can do to resolve it but had no response. What would you suggest to try to resolve it?

Hello,

I don't have a 7980 so I'm afraid I don't have any suggestions to offer. There is no extender for that ...

Thank you, I was about to reply that I had already tried that one without success but thought 'I'll give it a try again'. It works so thank you, not sure what I had done the first time around.

'The selected protocol....is not compatible with the selected remote..' (URC7955) what are my options to sort this?

In the meantime I have found some posts with the same issue and am working through what to do.

We don't seem to have the range of remotes available in the UK as you do have in the states, and I would have to pay the same amount in shipping fees as the value of some of the remotes.
