Thanks for the response and explanation.

In addition, it looks like you kicked the server in the butt since everything now is full speed!

You and the site are appreciated!

Possibly related... when I login and navigate this site, clicking topics, etc are painfully slow... several minutes or more.

The only way to use the site is to open a site link in a tab, then go to another tab and do something else until I notice that the page name has appeared on the JP1 tab ...

Server Issues?

Hi... it's been a while, but, I am getting email notifications of posts in topics that I have participated in the past, but the links all end up with "topic does not exist"

For example;

Anything I need to know?

Thanks in ...

I searched for something like this, but was unable to find it. Would you point me to more info about this?

TIA,

>> Do you have the OARUSB04G extender installed? <<

Thanks... no, since my needs so far have been met without it, but I have downloaded it and will install it within a day or so when I have available time.

First look indicates that it might address another issue that I overcame with a macro ...

>> which one you're using <<

That question doesn't bode well based on a number of other unsuccessful attempts to do things. ;-/

OARUSB04G... and, I'm invested... have four of them now ...primarily because of their direct USB transfer capability.

In most other respect, they have served me well ...

Macro Delay

How does one include a delay in a macro?

I'm using a macro to switch from TV to computer and I need to issue a keyboard command in order to bring the computer out of "suspend" mode in the event that it has gone to sleep.

There is a delay after the input command selects the HDMI port that the ...

Thanks... will keep looking.

Again, the link in your post is to the settings.bin file for the _non_ OARUSB04G 4000 remote.

The settings.bin file at that location will load and work in the 4000, but it essentially converts the 4000 to a non 4000 remote.

I have posted a copy of the OARUSB04G 4000 ...

I managed to recreate the situation that "bricked" my OARUSB04G 4000 rmir file.

This rmir file (OARUSB04G4000-ErrorWrite-1.rmir https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=25515 ) creates a Write -1 error when uploading that leaves the remote completely dead... no keys function ...

For example, you'd probably put power toggle on the Power button. But you typically only use discrete on and off in macros
Thanks... that confirms my conclusions.

Thanks for the "button6e" clarification... now I can sleep tonight.

fwiw, I'm working to better understanding macros/activities and ...

...want to include in macros. If that's not useful to you, just ignore them.

"Phantom Buttons"
Thanks... Makes sense.

However, I'm currently working to understand macro/activity combinations and wonder if someone could give me an example of a good use of these phantoms?

3. Button6e is an ...

I've asked these questions before, but I should be in a better place to understand the answers now.

On the OARUSB04G remotes;

1. What do the buttons marked with "*" indicate?

2. On the remote layout image there are buttons shown _below_ the image of the remote. These buttons show the "*" buttons ...

Continuing with Flirc;

The next thing that I did was to install the Flirc software and drivers.

The list of "controllers" is limited... eleven to be exact.

However, it does include a full windows keyboard and the recording commands include multi key commands such as;
<win-D> (show desktop) and ...
