Thanks-
The new receiver has 4 digital inputs (that's I think what my problem was, the others only have 3).

The 4th digital input is TV/STB (Set Top Box).

Now I'm trying to find discrete power codes for Philips DVDs-- can't find ANY for their low-end HDMI players.

Never mind. I dug out my old RS 15-2117 and learned the TV/STB code, then dumped that into ir.exe.

For anyone who needs it, the code for TV/STB is:
protocol device sub-d OBC Hex EFC
pan 160 0 156 C6 252

(you really only need the OBC for input into keymaster)

Panasonic SA-XR55

This is a popular receiver on AVSforum. However, there are now 8 inputs (pannys used to have only 6) and one is a digital input. I'm looking for all 8 input codes (in particular TV/STB input which has changed).
1. Device: Panasonic SA-XR55
2. Type of device: Tuner/Receiver
3. Year: 2006
4. UEI ...

A thousand pardons on all counts. Thanks again for your quick and clear help. I used the keymaster from another source for the 501 PVR which had it set to that mode, so never questioned it.

Thanks!! I'm excited to finish unleashing my 6131!

Thanks Robman. I uploaded both .IR and .txt files to the Yahoo forum,
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jp1/files/Diagnosis%20Area/for%20robman.IR

is the link to the .IR file.

It's frustrating not to be able to use my TV volume keys--I appreciate any pointers. Perhaps it has something to do with ...

6131 strange behavior! "forgets" keymoves?

I have a non-extended Robman 6131, programmed for a Sony Wega KV-34XBR800 HDTV (protocol 27) and a Dish 501 PVR (protocol 02). All my devices have volume punch-through enabled. But for some reason, it won't work for my Dish PVR device. Oddly, VPT volume changes work if I use it immediately after ...

Sorry about that! I looked for a file upload button but didn't know it was only active in diagnosis area.

Didn't know about the VPT limitations, thanks for enlightening me.

Decided to use the 6131 extender instead.

PS I was wrong about manually pushing PVR, that didn't activate VPT.

I've played and fiddled but the bug still occurs. Below is my ir.exe file. (the rest are FF's). Thanks for any help Robman.

6131 Macro bug--odd

I use a macro setup my 5100 HD cable box. Last command is "PVR" which is the cable box itself. This works, as buttons are now controlling the cable box, but I have VPT enabled and on for PVR. But volume punch-through (VPT) isn't working. Using vol+/- keys control the cable box volume instead. When I ...

FYI, I got curious and blinked back my Comcast remote's code for the 5100 HD cable box. Robman again was right, the proper code to use is 0476!

BTW, I changed the subject to the proper question (ths robman)

Okay all is well. Rob, you are correct, the new Mot cable box works with 0810 (didn't try 0476). I am really happy with this remote and setup. I assigned my Zektor 4-input component switch to dev7, and assigned device macros by shift-device to discrete turn everything on and switch inputs.

The 2 ...

Okay I figured it out. IR does change whatever you type in. You simply ignore it. It works anyway.

I don't know why IR changes whatever hex codes you type in...is this a bug? But it still accepts the original input and keymoves work properly. Phew...lots of trial and error, but worth it!

One more ...

Hi Robman,

My search showed this:
"To calculate hex for RC5 commands since AUDIO_1189 is a two byte protocol:

For OBC's <64

First byte = decimal 31-device and convert to hex
Second byte = decimal (63-OBC) X 4 and convert to hex

if OBC>63
First Byte=decimal 95-device and convert to hex ...

Bingo! Thank you sir.

I'm curious. The device I'm trying to create is a Yamaha VCR code 0038 (it's what a Zektor component switcher emulates). Why can't I keymove the dev7 device button directly to shift-TV? (instead of macro)

2nd question: I just found the thread that says the 6131 can't take EFC ...
