9910 Base Station Flasher Jack Strength

Anyone have experience hooking up multiple IR flashers to the jack on the 9910 RF reciever station? All my equipment is out in the open (not in a closet), but in order to place the base station where it would hit everything it would have to be out in the middle of the room. I currently have an 8910 ...

Hey, Guys,

Just wanted to let you know that I'm still here. It's been a busy week/weekend for me. I've been writing a VBScript program to extract comments from Canon's ZoomBrowser software for my Dad. He's been entering comments on his digital pics for years, and just realized recently that ...

How embarrassing! Can't believe I didn't notice the bit/byte thing.

Thanks!

S-93C56BD0H EEPROM JP1 compatible? (I can get a few free)

Just wondering how standard these 8 pin EEPROMs are. The overview for this chip is here and the datasheet is here .

If it takes really digging into the spec to tell if it's compatible then don't bother. I just didn't know if an expert could glance at the specs and give a quick yea or nay. I was ...

It looks like that fixed at least some of what was going on... I still get the four blinks with every volume key press. Device selection doesn't seem to be working completely. However, I assigned macro "1;2;3;4" to the "A" button and it worked. Pressing a real device button also illuminates the LED ...

Dang, I've been looking at too many different files. Now that you mention about the s3c8asm file, I do recall reading that before. It just didn't sink in to the proper portion of my memory bank. Time for me to RTFRM again. :)

Your blink testing protocol/upgrade worked again as it was supposed to ...

I tried the new file, but still no device selection. I tried assigning a macro for the sequence "1-2-3-4" to the "A" button, but it didn't work either.

Also, there is some strange behavior after the upload to the remote. If I press any of the device keys (before pressing a volume key), the lights ...

I don't think this would work because the remote can't know about the device button settings addresses in the extender RDF.

I didn't set 1800 in IR, I used the setup method on the remote to manually change codes.

The default mode on the remote after a 981 is Cable. It is made by Motorola after ...

Thanks for the great information, Hal. I only had time tonight to test the blink protocol/upgrade. It worked as advertised, except that "4" blinked 3 times and "3" blinked four times. The first blink on each key was longer than the others, maybe like a double blink with no off time in the middle. A ...

Again, sorry if I'm being annoying. I'd like to learn to the point where I can actually contribute to the community.

I found some more info in the protocol-builder-assembler-readme.txt file that explains xorg, wreg, and a couple of other assembler directives. I assume that at least xorg works the ...

Thanks, Rob, I think I worded my previous post poorly. Being a mechanical guy with 90% of my programming skills (if you can call them that) self taught, I'm not so accurate with terminology. I had found the processor's instruction set previously in a google search. What I (think) I was trying to ...

I'm also trying to do a crash course on assembly code and learn exactly what is going on in the extender. There are a couple of things I can't really remember from what I've done before and I can't find it on the web either. I think I've ascertained that db and dw are define byte and word ...

Hal,

Thanks so much for the updated files! I have way more confidence in the ones you did than what I would have done. Anyway, I've played around some, and I'm not getting great results. I'm not sure I'm doing everything right, though. Here's what I did:

I opened the dcp501_extender1-2K.txt file ...

I got the remote back in the mail yesterday (again, thank you so much, Rob!). I'm not sure when I'll get a chance to play with the extender. Maybe this weekend, but we've got a lot going on. I did download extinstall this morning. I didn't find it in the files section, so I assume the Yahoo version ...

Thanks, Rob... Kinda stinks for the unenlightened, doesn't it? Guess that's one reason why most user manuals don't describe how to do a 981 reset.

Like I said... I just like learning stuff. Thanks for teaching!
