Re: MENU function for Sony Bravia 9 TV

Success! I don't know if the trick was to use the original remote or just more practice learning codes, but on the 4th or 5th try using the original remote to teach my URC8011 I was successful. I don't think I've needed to learn a code in about 20 years, lol.

Just in case anyone finds this useful ...

Re: MENU function for Sony Bravia 9 TV

Yes, I've studied that quite a bit, but I still haven't found it. The button on my remote is labeled "MENU", but on 2022 TVs I think it was labeled "123". Sony says it brings up the "Control Menu" in some of the stuff I've read online. Sony says it will "Display a menu on the TV to use button ...

Re: MENU function for Sony Bravia 9 TV

Yes, I've looked through that one. "Quick Settings" is actually the function code that matches the "tools" button on the original B9 remote. It's the one that looks like a wrench on the remote. Thanks for the suggestion though.

MENU function for Sony Bravia 9 TV

I'm looking for the code for the MENU function that is on the newer, stripped-down Sony TV remotes. My TV is a 2024 model. I believe the remote that came with the TV is the Sony RMF-TX920U. There is a button labeled MENU that I can not determine a code for. The button brings up a shortcut menu for ...

Re: I've disabled new user registration

Hey Rob,
I'd like to thank you for your dedication to the JP1 community. I started back in the Radio Shack 15-1994 days. Those are long gone now but I'm still using about a half-dozen Atlas 1056s, two on each of my 3 TVs. I recently bought a Sony Bravia 9 which is my first new TV since 2011!

I ...

I pull the plug next week so I'm just getting prepared. I'm trying to get the backup remotes programmed for ease-of-use for my wife. We'll be using a Roku solely after next week for Hulu+Live TV, Netflix, Prime, Plex, etc. This week is just practice, lol. I had to wait till Magnolia was available on ...

OK, I get it now. Yes, I was using an upgrade. I was getting the "WARNING: Setup Codes shown in RED are invalid." and "The current setup contains invalid device codes." messages. Now I see I just needed to change the setup code for that device button to one of the built-in ones for that device type ...

Removing a device

I'm using RMIR V2.15.18 to make some changes to an old remote file I have. I need to remove a CBL device, but can't seem to figure out how to do it. I see it on the General tab as device #1. I've deleted it from the DEVICES tab, and deleted any associated Key Moves. I think I might be making this ...
