I've been here a long time. My user number is "4" if that says anything! Before hat it was the Yahoo Groups.

While I haven't contributed in forever, I still check in almost every day. It's my longest running forum membership and I get antsy if I don't log in.

The entire trip has been ...

Sounds like you may have been using the RCRP05B extender. I'm not positive, but I don't think you can just copy from one remote to the other without first installing and activating the extender.

You can click on 7 Days up in the header to see a list of posts from the past 7 days. If you don't come here at least once a week that won't help but you could create a shortcut and change the search_time=7 to the number of days to go back.

@DDE12
That table, however, says "Enter the 5 digit code for your brand of Set-top box (see below). The RF ADAPTER LED will blink twice to confirm code entry." It is unclear to me what this means, the first character of all the listed codes is C, not a digit, and nothing I have tried has made the ...

Appears the Java runtime is version 8 and the SDK is up to 15. Two different things, correct?
Not really. It looks as if Oracle is no longer bothering to produce a separate runtime JRE as the JDK serves both purposes. Users with no interest in development can use the JDK as if it were a JRE. The ...

Are versions newer than 8 only for developers? If you go to Java.com, they only offer version 8 update 281 for download.
Also, does RMIR work with 64-bit Java yet under Windows? I remember there was in issue in the past, but don't know if it was fixed.

Oracle has changed its website for Java ...

I hope you think this meets your concern, though not in the way you suggested.
I guess saving the summary might seem redundant so maybe the filename is irrelevant. Just thought that if users wanted to save it, a unique filename is better than a generic one. Your upcoming solution seems to be the ...

Re: New Summary feature in RMIR

The summary file is self-contained, so it can be copied and/or renamed if you wish to retain it. If you do not do so then it will be overwritten without prompting when you next run the summary feature.
One suggestion... why not use the name of the of the displayed RMIR file (if available) instead ...

Re: THANKS

An hour later, I had the device codes on the remote and everything was working... trivial, perhaps, but I hadn't felt this sense of achievement since the chemo began half a decade ago.
A perfect story for this time of year!

While playing with this stuff is indeed trivial, your battle with the big ...

I know nothing about KM, but I've loaded the .txt file into KM to have a look at the data. The construction of byte 2 seems to be an ad hoc one for this protocol that is presumably specially handled within the KM code. KM was state-of-the-art at one time! ;) Pretty amazing what Rob, myself, and ...
