So there is no way to fix this issue via software? We are limited to hardware replacement?

I have new USB JP1. I can down load from my remote replay (true replay) code 3402w01 model trying to use the using OEM3OEM (ReplayTV Version2).rdf file. it has everything I need and is how it was originally identified. Now I can download from the remote and it identifies as Replay Tv /Showstopper ...

I have received my new JP1 cable. When I plugged it in though it looked for a driver, and could not find one. Now when i run IR.exe it cannot find my device, and USB is greyed out as a selectable option under interface. Is there a special USB driver needed to make this work?
