I wonder how would one capture the unique code from the 2nd press of this or other similar buttons. I don't know how to use learning function for this.
I don't think the code changes at all, I think the button simply toggles the input between DVD 6-ch and DVD 2-ch. If the receiver is on a non-DVD ...

- I have that DVD 6-ch function (SA-HE100), but it does not select DVD on the OEM remote.
Not sure what you mean here. Do you mean that you placed that function on your JP1 remote, but it does not select DVD input on the receiver?

- There's a separate button, in the devices array, to select DVD ...

Hi Elizabeth-

1. Speaker Select indeed is for selecting individual speakers and then adjusting decibels up or down for that speaker.

2. The DVD function selects DVD 6-channel input. Once that input is selected, pressing the Digital Input button switches to DVD Digital input. I don't use the 6 ...

Understood. I re-did the upgrade with the Panasonic Combo protocol and tested it, and all works great. I replaced the prior file (rather then deleting and uploading), so the url remains the same: http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=download&file_id=2549

Thanks again for all the help ...

In fact, the learned signals don't work, and I thought the lack of decoding might be the problem. With my RS-2116, I put in into learning mode, aligh the two remotes, press and hold the function button on the XACT remote and press and release the learning button on the RS-2116. I continue to hold ...

Sorry for any confusion, I'm still learning and blundering through. A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing.

Rob, you are correct, some of the learned signals have numbers other than 0 in the sub-device code (I've seen 20 and 18 so far). Does that mean the upgrade file has to use multiple ...

Sirius XACT tuner

I have uploaded an IR file for decoding. It is a collection of learned signals from my Sirius XACT tuner remote. All the functions are seen by IR as Raw Signal Information, with DecodeIR 2.29. The functions are as follows:

Button - Function

Guide - Power
Up - Up
Down - Down
Left - Left
Right ...

Rob, is there a way to translate the 168 OBC to an EFC for me to use in the function tab of KM?

Also, I originally used the Panasonic protocol because that is how IR decodes learned signals from my Technics remote.

Thanks!

I guess I'm a bit confused also, because the upgrade file definitely works with my Technics receiver. I also found that if I enter the EA FF hex code into the OBC column of the Function tab, it makes it permanent, and the upgrade works fine. So I deleted the old file, with the wrong hex code, and ...

Hey Rob, interesting thing. When I created the upgrade file, I manually set the hex code for Digital Input to the necessary value, EA FF. Then I saved it and uploaded it. But, after downloading and opening it, Keymap changes it to OF, which will not work. How can I make the hex code change permanent?

Ok, I understand, and am getting the hang of this. I posted the keymap upgrade file as "Technics SA-DX1040 with Digital Input function". The url is http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=2544

BTW, Rob, I posted it twice, because the first one does not work right. Please ...

Hey Rob, thanks for suggesting I do that. I have uploaded an IR file (as a txt file) with the device upgrade (AMP 1308) and the Digital Input function mapped to AUDIO:ENTER. The file is called Technics SA-DX1040 Receiver and the url is http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=download&file ...

Found it on the Yahoo board. It is a hex: EA FF
