Re: Smart TV - Rant
Now Input Select stopped working. This skinny menu, is in the upper left hand corner. Turns out that if you have the picture zoomed, or wide zoomed, it moves the TV's own menu off the screen!!!! I've never seen that before! So now we have to deal with the zoom level to do an input select. I'm ...

I've retired my ReplayTVs
I hate to hear that, for me I'm just getting back into them. The DNNA closedown forced me to finally install WiRNS so I could keep getting the channel guide so now I'm archiving all my shows on my WiRNS pc so I can share them via IVS and I'm getting lots of shows sent to ...

Adding activities
I finally got all of my upgrades made and now I would like to add some activities but, frankly, I don't understand the activities tab of RMIR at all. Power Macro? Picture, Sound and Power Assist? Button Groups? What are all of these things? How would I use them? Why would I use them? I tried looking ...

Les, you really cannot build a new remote image for the ARRX15G in RMIR. For the XSight remotes, you MUST use the remote itself to add new devices. You can then download your setup into RMIR and manipulate it, but you must start from the remote itself.
Indeed, there are very few remotes for which ...

ARRX15G no longer working with RMIR
I have been slowly adding upgrades to my ARRX15G remote but in the middle of one of them, things got weird. I was trying to change the device list in rmir (e.g. change the order of the devices, delete devices in the list, etc.) and all sorts of strange things started happening -- I wound up with ...

Les,
The learns labeled "multiple" are fine. For many functions, Pioneer uses a sequence of two IR signals with different OBCs, and there isn't room in the RMIR table to display both. Click on the word "multiple" to see both signals. For example, line 27 HDMI, shows device 165, with a first OBC of ...

questionable learned commands
I recently purchased an XSight remote (ARRX15G) and have been attempting to build device upgrades for my equipment using it. For my Pioneer VSX-1120-K receiver, the device definition I got from the remote (or the EZ-RC site -- I don't remember which) had very little functionality and a lot of it ...

Yeah, now that I found the original upgrade file, I see something a bit unusual. Not in the protocol itself, but in how the commands were entered.
The protocol uses 3-byte commands, which is fine. For Manual Settings, 3-byte commands are normally entered as hex directly in the EFC (or OBC) column ...
