Resolved
Evidently IR handles this somehow. I had a bad transistor which I found by writing a C program to assert RTS. The interface cable seems to work now.

need help building a cable
Hi I have breadboarded a jp 1.x interface using Tommy's document revised 9/28/2008. I am building the transistor version.
I am using IR version 7.14 dated 4/27/2007
Now my question is this...
It seems that the latest plans call for using RTS to reset the remote while the prior version used DTR ...

Problem solved
I am so sorry ... I finally tried to figure out what the big red message "The protocol code below is required for this upgrade" is all about. After reading the readme file I found that it means exactly what it says. I had never experience a protocol upgrade before.
Anyway I copied the protocol ...

New 8910 and Combined Sony protocol
Hi I just got a new urc 8910 and I am attempting to program it just as I have my 6131 and 2133. I am having trouble with the code for my Sony receiver. I use the Sony Combo (12/15/20) protocol Protocol ID 01 27 in keymap master. This first thing I notice is that for the 6131 the protocol ID is 00 27 ...

More info
I encountered this problem again last night. This time, removing the batteries did not help. I downloaded (or uploaded) the eeprom from the remote and compared it. it appears that all of the keymoves and the devices are in there but I just cannot program the device button. The device codes for 2 ...

URC 6131 forgets upgrade
I have upgraded a URC 6131 with new codes and it had been working fine for at least a year. But lately it forgets the upgrade. By that I mean that it acts like there is no EEPROM. I try to reprogram the device with my upgrade code 1999 and it just blinks twice. Today I removed a battery and replaced ...

keymoves and keynames
With my 6131 I can use a keyname to make a keymove (Using IR 6)
With my 15-2133 there is no radio button for keyname in the keymove dialog so I have to use the hex or EFC
Am I missing something or is this just the way things are?

2 byte EFC in IR
Hi I am using audio code 1058 which Mike England indicated is a two byte code. I wish to add a keymove using IR but I cannot find how to enter the 2 required bytes. I want to add EFC 173 and device code 0Cx.
