Rob, you provide a great service to the amateur electrical engineer in all of us.

I have a 6131M and cable, communication is up, found a 6412 Keymap file and am very optimistic about this weekend.

URC MX-850 alternatives
I got help here before and got a 6131M for my TIVO. Got the cable but was happy enough with right out of the box usage. Just upgraded my system significantly, and need an opinion other then brick & mortar store.

OFA Upgradeable 6131M
I am getting a 6131M and just reading up while waiting. The OFA site lists Upgradeable Technology first on the list of features. WoW must be important selling point. Of course upgradeable does not turn up in a word search of the manual, not anywhere on the site.

Thanks Greg. Wasn't obvious to me that so few of the remotes support the PVR keys. I looked at the ir converter for x10 and that looks like a winner. IR is line of sight though where rf could be in a separate room. But both are the right price point for playing around and have the functionality I ...

What's the perfect remote....for me?
I am willing to learn and load JP1 jack codes. I want to control the following: tv, toshiba dvd/vcr combo, tivo series 2, GI dct digital cable box (comcast of course), AND X10 controls. The X10 probably means an RF transmitter to an X10 base. I would like to get it from a source that ships cables as ...
