Liz, the 012A protocol is needed to use the MCE device at all. What I want to do is put the "Recorded TV" button on the FAV key, just like I do with the Cable box and the ReplayTV.
Mark, I read that line and thought that might be it. But the Replay protocol I use isn't in EEPROM, and it works with ...

Apex DVD Shift on URC8910?
I see alot of talk about Apex players and the shift key in old posts, but I think their problem was opposite mine. Those posts refer to a shift key on the original remote, and how to gain access to those commands on the universal remote. My problem is with the shift function on the 8910 remote.

Most of what I've seen in JP1 stuff is great, and I can see and appreciate how much time and effort went into it all. But how you came up with those protocals from my IRdump - well, that appears to be magic! Thank you!

Thanks. Having played with IR for abit now, I understand what you're saying. And I followed that approach. I'm almost full on keymoves though, so if I need to add anything else I'll either need to:
1) replace some key moves with learned keys
2) get all the keyboard learned keys into an update so I ...

I forgot about this thread, and posted my results over in the General forum. Basically, my IR file, Chicony.txt is in the diagnostic file section at Yahoo JP1. In the learned tab, everything marked CD is from the keyboard. I will try fresh batteries in both remotes tonight, and see whether I get a ...

Thanks for the clarification. I thought it might use less mem space to include it in the upgrade, which is why I was trying to force it in there.
Also, I guess I didn't realize that IR had more functions than KM. I thought KM was just the easier UI for setting things up. But now I see that KM is ...

TV & RCVR discrete codes on each device
Right now, I am using the keymover feature of my remote to map the discrete input selection keys from the RCVR to the same button under each device. In other words, whatever device mode I'm on in the remote, when I hit that key, it syncs the RCVR to the input for that device.

Yes, its IR. I've learned several of the buttons, but am out of memory, until I get my JP1 cable, and can start replacing all my learned and moved keys (on all devices, not just PC) with new created devices in ROM.

Chicony keyboard?
Anyone programmed the chicony wireless keyboard/mouse onto their remote? I don't see any references to it here or at yahoo jp1.
