It's a loop. If you keep the button pressed, you dim the lights until its minimum brightness and then it starts to brighten again until its maximum brightness and then dim again and so on.

Thanks for KM file!

Replaced the batteries and the strange behavior (reseting after a long key press) has gone.

And the code posted by Rob worked for dim too :)

That's ok now. Thanks again!

Rob,

Here is the .ir file:

There are four dim learned signals, all working (as I said before, working for on/off, but not for dim).

Thanks,
Célio.

Ok, I did the other tests and when I cover up the signal for a moment and then remove my hand, the light starts to dim. :D

Using this same method, I've learned several times the signal. But when I press these learned key, it just turns the light on/off, not dim (same behavior of the not covered ...

Rob, tried the codes and they worked for on/off, thanks. I mapped it to power button of CD device.

But it has a strange behavior:

- if I press the key too fast, it doesn't work;
- if I press too long (1 sec or more), the led blinks twice and the device selection changes to TV (I can't remind now ...

Thanks a lot, Rob!

I'll try the codes and the procedure to capture the dim signal tonight at home, and then post a reply here.

Positronic dimmer

Hi,

I need some help to build a protocol to this Brazilian Positronic Dimmer with just one key that turns on/off and dim the light (if keep pressed). I've learned this key several times and downloaded to IR. The .ir file can be found here:

Thanks a lot john,
It worked perfectly!
IR reports a frequency of 40KHz as you supposed. Just changed protocol to pid 00 C5 in KM, put suggested numbers for dev/parm and LSB-COMB as signal style. It worked right without changes on EFC´s.

simple questions

Hi,
I'm a urc-8811 owner and got some simple questions:

(1) What is protocol NEC1-a? (that can be found on Devices.xls file)
(2) Is this protocol suported by KM? (I'm trying to build a device upgrade for Timeless cable box - setup code 0418 - that uses this protocol)

I've learned all buttons from ...
