Johnsfine

Thankyou VERY VERY much. You have saved me hours of further frustration. The Pronto codes work perfectly, though the blaster is extremely sensitive as to its location. I must have a different version of makehex to you though, cause when I run the same functions with 0.0 I get different ...

I would give you the Pronto Hex you want, but I don't know the device and subdevice values you need. Those go in the .irp file before and after the . on the line saying Device=

Thats the thing that confused me. When I look in RM at the upgrade with the correct protocol selected (RC6-M-20n ...

Makehex and RC6-M-20n specifc IRP file

Hi folks,

I have a need to produce a few Pronto Hex codes for the above protocol. Specifically I need the number codes (0-9) to drive a Pace DC420NF STB from inside Media Portal using an IR driver written by Bruno Fleurette.

I DO have a working RM upgrade which is working fine on my shiny new 9910 ...

Johnsfine,

Sorry if I didn't make myslef clear.

I tested both discrete power codes with subdevice 0 and subdevice 4. Neither worked.

You were correct that I was changing the entire upgrade from one subdevice to the other (before I saw how the combo upgrade).

Thanks for clarifying what a combo ...

Guys,

Thanks again for replying so fast.

I guessed the 4 was for the subdevice and tried that setting with another code, and it broke the non discrete on offs I had assigned.

Why didn't I test the Discrete ON/OFF? Well, I was in the middle of testing an extender for my 8080B01 and my wife was ...

Jason,

Thanks for the code update, I really appreciate the efforts you have made around this old piece of gear.

Here is what I have done since your last post.

1. Edited the URC8080-B01 RDF that came in the 1.22 RDF distribution, and (successfully it seems) added all the "extender" functions ...

I use RM rather than KM. Do you mean I should be entering a HEX value of 4 for a function? Or something else.

Sorry for the long delay between replies here, work hammered me for a few months.

Jason,

Sorry for the huge gap in time before I got back to you on this. I finally put some time aside to focus on this.

This is what I have done so far.

1. Loaded up the URC8080-B01 RDF that came in the 1.22 RDF distribution.

2. Loaded my device upgrades and protocol ugrades.

3. Tested the ...

Jason,

Thanks for the work! I was angling towrds the purchase of a 9960. And I may still go that way, however, I am willing to put some effort toward testing the extender for the B01.

Bear with me, work has been  of late. I will test it and respond.

Do you have specific test cases you woul ...

Ok,

I did the following earlier.

1. I recreated new B02 Extended versions of all my rmdu files using the RDF modified by gfb107.
2. Opened the updated RDF in IR6 and added all my device updates.
3. Uploaded the new IR file to the 8080B01.

In the IR fiel I created, I used lighton and off commands ...

Guys,

Thanks so much for the fast response.
I have to look a little closer but there is the potential the B02 extender may work.
I'll give the extender a whirl tonight. Anything specific I should try? Other than the documented extender functions that is.

The extender RDF you are using hasn't been kept up to date with the changes needed by RM

Ok. I should just "watch this space" then? I'm pretty comfy with the setup as it is, so no rush. I'm 1,000 miles from the $10 learning remote from Aldi I was using last week.

However, you say you are trying ...

Ok.

I've downloaded the URC- 8080B02 extender from
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=1452

I can load the RDF into IR6 with no issues, but when I go to open it in RM I get the following error. This happens regardless of wether I have a known working upgrade open or ...

The version number should be printed on the back of the remote, right after the model number, eg URC-8080B02.

Ouch - okay, I'm blind. Its a URC-8080B01

save a copy of your remote's current memory image

Thanks, I'll give it a try. A download and save with IR6 will save the entire remote memory ...
