I agree with the Atlas 1056 as well. I get my backlit 1056s from here. $10 shipped. They are not learning. http://cgi.ebay.com/110526482531

The parallel port PCI express card slot cards I've seen are pretty pricey (in the $60 range for a decent one.) I would suggest going with one of Tommy Tyler's "USB Interface Cable for JP1.2 or JP1.3 (Flash) Remotes" and one of his "JP1 EEPROM Programming Adapter for JP1 (EEPROM) Remotes" from here ...

Re: Replacement for 15-2116

I was a member of this board many years ago. Built me cable and programmed my remote and have been living happy every since. Until a couple of months ago when it started acting up and today it died. I am looking for replacement recommendations.

I recommend an Atlas remote from here:

This is for an unextended remote and only needs to be patched once. After that, you can remove the upgrades.

Save your current .IR setup.
Please make sure TV Chan Dev is TV so that in TV mode, CH+/- works in TV mode and doesn't switch over to CBL mode.
Add the two device upgrades into IR.

You're not kidding about it being S-l-o-w without the help of an extender... Actually I guess it really would not be THAT bad IF I did not know how fast they can be with an extender. I'm having to retrain myself to point the remote longer than I'm used to doing.

Can you speed up macros without an extender?

I'm 99% sure I already know the answer to this question, but is there any way to speed up macros without the use of an extender?

I'm messing around with a RCA RCRP05B to replace my dying 8810w. I've been able to convert everything over to the RCRP05B but the only thing I miss is how fast the 8810w ...

No cables, but I might have some used URC-8811s.

Rob, Would you happen to have any more used URC-8811s in great working order? If so can you PM me the price for one?

I've been looking for a current replacement for my aging URC-8810W. It still works, but it does not learn anymore, the battery ...

Programming Macros on device keys on a 8810w?

Am I correct in assuming that the device keys can only be programmed when using an extender and not in the remotes non-extended state?

I jumped in feet first last week when I got my 8810w and loaded up the 6012ex3_2 extender before trying to program the device keys without an extender. After ...
