tor,

Thanks ever so much for the detailed description of your configuration! I've worked out a somewhat similar setup for my system which consists of:

- The Panasonic SC-HT810V HT unit
- An older JVC AV-20820 (20") television set
- A "Roady2" satellite radio receiver
- A Technics turntable + Shure ...

The bad news:

- None of the above codes (nor some additional ones that I tried) seem to be the discrete codes needed to select DVD, VCR, AM, or FM.

The good news:

- The DVD mode can be "forced" via a macro that make the DVD the active device and then invokes the DVD "play" command (device 176.0 ...

Folks,

Thanks for all the info! I've been out of town for a couple days, so I have not been able to try out any of the functions that you suggested. Hopefully, I'll be able to do some testing this weekend & will keep you posted.

Unfortunately, I've confirmed (by programming my 8810w) that device 160.0 with an EFC of 227 is, indeed, a TOGGLE. I also tried your OBC of 158 (=254 EFC) and it does not appear to do anything....

I was going to try a few EFC's around 227, since Power discretes are usually quite close (in EFC value ...

FM/AM & DVD/VRC discretes for Panasonic SC-HT810V

Folks,

The OEM remote control for my Panasonic SC-HT810V "Home Theater" system has buttons for toggling between AM & FM and between DVD & VCR modes. Unfortunately, the lack of discrete commands for these functions makes it more difficult to set up my 8810w (WalMart) remote.

I'm planning to do some ...

Nils,

I expected that this was the situation, but I just wanted to confirm that there was no other "workaround".

Thanks for the info,

Folks,

I recently noticed that the DSM "Special Protocol" is greyed-out while I'm using the "6_806_80 (URC-881x_801x_601x).rdf" file in conjunction with the "LKPDKP-8810w.txt" LKP/DKP/DSM" combo protocol file. The documentation for this combo protocol shows support for LKP/DKP/DSM, all (apparently ...

One new concern. It appears that I'll need to add a delay after the "Power ON" before giving additional commands. I found a very simple Special Protocol that can be used to add such a delay to S3C8 based remotes. Can someone tell me if my 8810w is, indeed, such a remote?

Thanks,

Yes, I verified that a device type of "audio" works just as well as "TV". Also, I switched to using "Shift-Phantom1"/"Phantom1" and "Shift Phantom2"/"Phantom2", and those seem to work fine also.

Now that I know the "macro secret" I should be able to configure my 8810w so the Power key in DVD mode ...

That WAS the problem! With Shift-L1 & Shift-L2 defined as macros, everything works fine. Just one question: Is Nils upgrade

Try deleting the 1106 device upgrade and add this one and change your keymove to this one

Upgrade code 0 = 0c 52 (TV/1106)

Whoops! In the last message there was a 'typo': TN 1053 should have been TV 1053.

Sorry, still doesn't work. Under the Devices tab of IR I now have TV:1053 and TV:1106 and under the Spcl Prot Fns tab I have

Device button: TV
Key: Power
Type: LKP(4) (TV[1106])
Function: (Short):L1 (Long):L2
HexCmd: $41 $25 $26

Under the Key Moves tab, I still have the two (unchanged) entries for ...

I've just uploaded my IR file named

I hope this will help pinpoint my problem!

Many thanks,

Folks,

I'm currently trying (please see my other message thread) to get the LKP/DKP/DSM Special Protocol working so I can better integrate the TV/VCR/DVD/Tuner functions of my 810V system. I don't really need any additional functionality, so I'm trying to get the above protocols to work on a NON ...

Nils,

I'm a bit confused by some of the above comments. Have you concluded that my problem is most likely caused by lack of a MISC device? (Do some of the other remotes - URC_881x_801x_601x - include such a device?) If this IS the case, is there any "workaround" for my 8810w remote, or will I need ...
