If you tested it on shift-RED, I take that to mean that you do know how to test a shifted button, which means that the device buttons are out for macros, including shifted-device buttons, which surprises me as those usually work.

I think so ... setup + button (TV/RED in my case) on this remote ...

So the remote wouldn't let you program macros to the device buttons, shifted or not, which is as expected.

Next, have you tried assigning macros to the device buttons from RMIR and then tested them on the remote? I expect the non-shifted device buttons to NOT work, and I expect the shifted device ...

I've got a 1280 in my hands - just tried adding a macro to TV, and then Shift-TV. The power button flashes once, but no macros appear to be triggered. I did a factory reset on the remote before loading in the upgrades etc. to try with. The upgrades appear to be working - just no macros on the device ...

@urcfan02 - thanks for this. I used your RDF as the one with the latest download (RM2.08b7) still seems to have the volume keys reversed. I haven't had this remote long, but I've loaded up a few of my standard upgrades and things seem functional.

I think I must have misread along the way, but I ...

JP2 / MAXQ612 Extender - URC-7962

Hello all,

I'm wondering about the possibility of seeing an extender written for JP2 remotes using the MAXQ612 processor. I'm specifically hoping for DSM support for these remotes, but I'd love to see DKP/LKP support as well.

I wasn't initially a huge fan of this remote, but after killing ...

I did open a new thread http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=101995 as well which details my specific RCA remote.
I just merged the threads, to keep the info all in one place.

Thanks! I wasn't sure if I should simply add-on to a thread which hadn't seen much action in recent months ...

Yes, the pins are the correct ones for JP1.3 and TOOL mode.

Cool, so this might work to unbrick some remotes

Hi there - sorry to reopen what appears to be a dormant thread, but I'm having a similar issue to that described above. I believe I bricked my remotes by inadvertently connecting my ...

It used to be that with simple JP1 remotes that it didn't matter what direction you plugged the cable in, it just didn't work if it was in the wrong way.

THAT IS NOT TRUE FOR JP1.3

When you plug a JP1.3 cable in upside down it will usually brick the remote, so it is very important to have PIN1 ...

Bricked RCA RCRP05BR

Hello all,

I've got a pair of RCA RCRP05BR remotes that no longer work. I really like this particular remote as it has a ton of hard buttons, so I'm hoping to get these back in operation.

I've been reading and trying a few things to see what might be possible. I've downloaded the JP2Sniffer tool ...

Hey @vickyg2003 - thanks for your reply.

So - in terms of URC-7962 (MAXQ612) development, you mentioned there are scarce resources available in terms of people working on remotes based on that processor. I think its probably safe to assume then than an extender for this remote which is no longer ...

URC-7962 Extender / DSM or get something else?

Hi all,

It feels like its been a long time since poking around the JP1 site - nice to see some of the old faces are still active here.

I've still got a working 15-2116 remote, and had moved onto RCA RCRP05B remotes, bit have now bricked a 2nd unit and am looking for other options.

A while ago, I ...

Hi all,

Is the RCA RCRP05B supported with the common extender? I see a v3.03 RDF in the latest RM (3X793X79 (RCA RCRP05B black extender V3.03)) and I can't find any other reference of a device specific extender for this remote newer than v1.05.

I'm having an issue with a RCRP05B - it seems to ...

Wanted: RS 15-2116/7

Hello all,

I'm looking for some Radio Shack 15-2116 or 15-2117 remotes. I know this is a bit of a long shot, but if you have one of these oldie but goodies in good condition, I would like to know.
