Help with a How to tutorial for extenders

I recently completed my first upgrade of a 15-2116 to include 2 TiVo's, an Onkyo receiver and a widescreen. The "Just How Easy It Is" and the "JP1 For Beginners" documentation were invaluable in helping me to accomplish my upgrade. I have seen .rdf extender files for my remote and have read the ...

Multiple protocol/OBC dilemma

I am the process of upgrading my RS 2116. I have been successful in using the learning capability of the 2116 to determine the OBC's for each of my two Tivo remotes. Each button from each of the original TiVo remotes gave me the same protocol for each remote and one OBC for each button that was ...

There is an after market interface for the MX-500 and MX600. It is called IRCLONE . It costs $80.

The interesting thing is that it is all done through IR signals. The 7-pin connector is not used.
Given my entry to JP1, I just thought it would be a plus to download the contents of my MX500 and ...

Download from a MX500

Is it possible to download from a MX500. The female connector on the USB JP1 cable that I bought from Filebug.com can only accomodate 6 pins - the MX500 has a 7 pin male connector.

Thanks ........ Herb

If the buttons aren't working, you either didn't enable macros, or your security settings in Excel are preventing macros from running. Without macro support, the buttons won't work.
I did enable the macros when the screen came up. What's the process for correcting the security issue?

I just ...

KM's "NEW - LOAD - SAVE - GOto IR" buttons

Following the tutorial, and with some Forum help, I was able to accomplish my first small upgrade. I was able to work around a situation that I ran into using KM and could use some help to correct my problem. The problem that I ran into was that I could not get any functional response from any of ...

Re: Keymap-master protocol name problem

the remote address of each had to be changed to avoid a conflict.

If I understand you correctly, they were both originally unit 0 and you changed one to be unit 1 and the other to be unit 2.

Is this the device (sorry about my bad memory) where each unit responds to both its own unit number and ...

Thanks for your reply.

I will use the TiVo(official) for the protocol name in the KM dropdown.

Regarding the unit number issue, I don't think that I was as clear as I should have been in my post yesterday. The protocol identified in IR for the first remote that was "learned" is ItVo NEC1 unit=1 (I ...

Keymap-master protocol name problem

I am new to JP1 and would appreciate some help with my first upgrade. I have a TiVo 10-250 remote that am attempting to program to a RS 2116.
Because I also have a TiVo R10 that uses the same model remote as the 10-250, the remote address of each had to be changed to avoid a conflict.

As a starting ...
