Hey Capn, good to see you here again.

It's good to be seen! ;)

So, are there any decent current production model Universal Electronics remotes being sold by anyone? I can't find an analog for the XSight/Nevo design that I've really come to rely on. I guess there are a few hard button JP1 remotes ...

Checking in after a long absence

Gentlemen, it's great to see that this forum continues to thrive! Life has intervened and I have (obviously) not been engaged in "hard-core" JP1-ing for a number of years, but I have been using my JP1 remotes regularly, and every time I need to program them, I come back here. It's phenomenal how ...

OK, so I uploaded the previously-shared "unextended" image.

The Black non-learner does nothing. Whatever button i press, I get a double-blink of the CBL key. Setup button does nothing long-press of setup does nothing. I can download the image i just uploaded, but ... nada.

So I guess my bottom line question is:
Is there a way to "deactivate" the extender after the remote image has been overwritten?

Are you sure RMIR is asking you to choose between extenders, rather than between remotes with the same signature and extender?

You are correct. That said, the damage I have done, is done. Regardless of what the remote's sig was, I downloaded it to RMIR, and then UPLOADED an UNEXTENDED RMIR image ...

Capn,
What is (-L) in your "Atlas 1056B01(-L)"?
That it is a learner. I have a black OCAP 3033 non-learner, and 2 silver ones with learning, and they have the "-L" appended to the name.
In case you still need unextended raw image, I posted one after 981 and 980 reset a while back

It's just a grin. Was supposed to mean "thanks." Haven't had a chance to work on it yet.

Re: Arrggghhh! I overwrote an extended Atlas OCAP 1056!

Bump.

Can anybody help me recover my Atkas OCAP?

Tx.
As I am digging into all of this once again, I pulled out my Atlas 1056B01(-L) JP1.3 OCAP remotes (2 silver learners, with back-lighting, and one black non-learner with no back-light).

I always start with downloading the remote's existing ...

The range looks similar on the US site:
https://www.oneforall.com/universal-remotes/products

And don't forget that "Acoustic Research" took over the OFA brand, so look for their remotes too, like the Xsight, Nevo, etc

Well, the XSight specifically is listed as discontinued with a number of ...

Is anybody still manufacturing/selling JP(X) remotes?

I thought I'd search around and see what's new in "universal remote-world" and was somewhat surprised to find that OFA is basically gone - just making replacement single-device remotes, and that besides Logitech, there's really nobody left in the "typical homeowner" universal remote game, and even ...

None taken, and YES!

I have VHS recordings of stuff that is simply unavailable anywhere else (and am too cheap to pay to have them converted.) I have Criterion Laserdiscs of movies that are still unavailable in any other format. As for the HDDVD player - I still have some discs that for my money ...

TOAD for XSight?

Is there any way to track states in the XSight? I know that there was NOT as of 2015 or so, but have been out of the loop and wondered if anyone had figured it out. I have several devices that have toggle-only power functions, and keeping them all in synch is a nightmare.
