In a Win2K machine I had a similar problem. The fix was to go into device manager and delete the parallel port. While in device manager, you should also look under view|Show hidden devices and delete any other parallel ports you see. Then reboot. The port should be recognized and WinXP should ...

Try the Play or eject command from Off on the VCR. Some units will turn on. Then a macro for Play|Stop is On and Play|Power toggle is Off.

I finally figured out how to do this simple protocol and it's here .

This puts out the exact same signal as the OEM remote accoridng to my testing. sbird, after saving your existing configuration in IR, do a 981 reset and load only this device AND protocol upgrade and give it a try. If that works ...

My guess is that it may be sending out commands to turn on other JVC gear. If you go to DVD input for example, it not only sets it's input but turns on the JVC DVD player, too. IIRC, that's the only time we have seen the JVC-48 protocol. The point being that you may not need the JVC-48 protocol to ...

Mark, I realize (now) that that this pretty well documented in the functions tab if you select NEC 2DEV combo in KM, but my first instinct was to read the keymap-master-protocols.txt and that was confusing to say the least. The NEC combo protocol descriptions are split between one and two byte ...

Re: Deleting Keys from remote

I have 2 devices that the buttons don't work as expected (or as I want) on my RCU810.

Issue 1: My amplifier is a Yamaha RX-V850, and my remote has the codes for it (0193). I do not use any of the ProLogic decoding, and want to disable those functions on the 810 ... Or is there another easier way ...

The 8910 is one of the few OFA remotes that CAN have macros assigned to the device keys without an extender. If you assign a macro, it will always execute that macro when you press the device key. If you have as the last device key in the macro as SAT, then rather than loop it sets SAT in the ...

Here is the long answer to what's different:

The spec in the manual that we saw was:

{42.3k,msb}<-376,+376|376,-376>((1:1,31:6,376,^46m)2,(1:1,F:6,376,^46m)+,(1:1,31:6,376,^46m)2)

and what was learned was:

{42.3k,msb}<-376,+376|376,-376>((1:1,31:6,376,^24m),(1:1,F:6,376,^46m)+)

What this means ...

I would look in the files and start with the AVR500 and see how close it is. They don't always use the same commands in all models but that is a start. You could also try any of the HK files. IIRC, there are one or two that use the device combiner and I would avoid those at least for the time being ...

Here ar the correct OBC's for the numerals:

215 3 / #-Dn
214 4 / $-Dn

I don't know where those OBC's came from. If you would test all commands again and create a tested version, I'll delete akll ...

I just posted a new device and protocol upgrade based on the learned commands. I have assigned very few keys in the buttons tab and it is set for a 6131 PVR remote but if you are using the extender you apparently select a different remote type in the setup tab, cell C2, "6131 PVR Extender".

Please ...

Larry,

Tell us the equipment you are trying to control, Something like SonyTV, Maganvox VCR is OK for right now. Model numbers may be helpful, but not necessary.

IMO, the answer is equipment specific to some degree.

Which of the last two repeating protocols worked better, if you can tell?

I still haven't figured out a good way of getting a longer gap between the first and second frame (the make key and the first repeat.) It probably needs another 70 mS for a total of 200mS. I think that short first gap is the ...

.. I'm guessing you want a robust result more than sycophantic praise...

No obsequience required -- I can take the cruel facts :-)

Let's give it another try. I'm guessing the final command doesn't add anything and may be what's causing the lose of focus. So that's gone.

Also there is a bigger ...
