I'm just about halfway done. It's a multi-day project as there are approximately 300 electrolytic capacitors. I'm still uncertain of the precise count since I have yet to gain full access to the bottom PCB. Unfortunately no service manual was ever publicly released, so it's been quite a ride. There ...

2003/fwd.delay+ = stereo actually is correctly labeled. It corresponds directly to the 'normal stereo' button on the front control panel of the unit. Although there is also the separate dsp function, the code for it still remains elusive. This 'digital signal processing' option is the ability to ...

OK great. I had initially thought that the list of results was complete and prime for sharing. However, after some verification testing, I've since realized that there are a few nagging surprises which require further scrutiny and revising. Four of the codes are now rather mysterious (because their ...

OK, I tested all seven of the Kenwood test upgrade device profiles. There were indeed some newly discovered (aka unlocked/applicable) command codes. Unfortunately, the more desirable codes such as Holographic Image, Panel Dim, & Full Automatic Operation remain unknown.
As anticipated, the majority ...

Yes, you're correct. I became certain that it was nothing but junk data after analyzing some of it through IrScrutinizer. Perhaps the trash codes were uploaded as some sort of prank? I may be new to the remote scene, yet I have already noticed more useless files than anticipated (mostly at other ...

I do not have an original functioning remote. It was never given to me along with the used preamp. A buddy of mine does own an original, but it's defective. His remote spontaneously wiped itself one day. All of its preamp and stored device codes were lost. So essentially, I'm attempting to resolve ...

Thanks for your clear and concise answer. It makes perfect sense now.
Another function I'm still uncertain how to do: Manually assigning pronto hex codes to individual buttons. I assume this is supported within the aforementioned RMDU utility of RM? I've never attempted to do this, perhaps it's a ...

RemoteMaster confusion regarding .rmdu files
It was obvious to me how to successfully upload .rmir files to a remote.
Unfortunately I do not see how to do the same with .rmdu files.
Perhaps .rmdu must first be converted to .rmir before the remote can be programmed?
Please forgive me if my question is beyond idiotic. I'm a total noob to this ...
