JP1 Remotes

Ok, I tried converting the upgrade to use Sony20 per Rob's suggestion, but I'm seeing the same results. I do a 981 reset, then assign the DVD button to 0533 (as a sanity check.) This works.

Then, I upload a device upgrade. If I assign the new number (2005) to the DVD ...

Darn. After the 981 reset on the Atlas I uploaded the device upgrade again, and now when I set the DVD button on the remote to 0533 it works (double-blink) but when I try to set it to 2005 I get the single blink.

Again, if I download from remote the 2005 device is definitely there.

Do I need a ...

First of all, thanks to whoever cleaned up my post and gave it its own thread (Rob?).

Secondly, I tried the 981 reset and the Atlas remote seems to be back to a healthy initial state. I'll have another go at uploading the upgrade tonight. I wonder if I used the older version of the Atlas 5 RDF the ...

I'm having some problems getting my Atlas 5 PVR remote (which I got from Time Warner accompanying my Scientific Atlanta 8300HD Cable Box / PVR) to control a DVD player I just purchased (SONY DVP-NS575P)

Based on other threads, I double-checked that the notations near the JP-1 pins do say JP-1, not ...

Thanks for the suggestions. I did try the 981 reset, but no change in behavior. Took the remote to our local Time Warner reseller, and the salesperson exchanged it after reproducing the issue.

Now page-up and page-down are just fine. I'm chalking this one up to bad hardware, I guess...

I deleted the upgrade from the remote via IR so now it's using the CBL/1877 built-in, I assume. Still no response from the unit when I press the page-up and page-down keys. :-(

I suppose it's possible that those keys on the remote are defective, but it's hard to believe. I'll see if I can get Time ...

I have the Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8000HD DVR along with the Atlas 5 remote. From day 1 the page-up and page-down functions have not worked (necessary when paging through the many channels I don't subscribe to!)

Thanks for the macro, tallwave! Works pretty well for me, too.

FYI, I did have to repeat the process three times in order to load it into each of the key's button presses.
