StephenR0, something similar happened to me, but I explicitly order the "pink" one with 6 pins, for a little higher price. But when it came it was the cheaper 4pin one.

We actually have fewer UEI remote models in the US.

I ask myself these questions when choosing a remote:

- Does it have all the physical buttons I need?
- Does it have enough device modes?
- Do I like the ergonomics?
- Is it JP1 compatible?

Only you can answer all these questions after looking ...

I'll try to do it, don't really know how. Visually, seeing photos online, I see some buttons are surely different. (For example, 1280 have APPS and "TV in a square" button, 2981 not. 2981 have "-/--" button, 1280 not. 1280 seems to have 2 buttons more.
