Questions about mechanics of IR receiver to 3.5mm jack
I've got a spare 3.5mm IR receiver cable, and I'm trying to learn how it interfaces with electronics as well as discover if there are any useful ways to put it to work. FWIW, a few months ago I purchased a USB IR receiver and learned pretty well how they work (as well as their limitations, which was ...

As you can see, the power key has no information regarding the protocol, and when creating a device upgrade in RMIR, F12 is not available as a protocol.
I'm also noticing that there are too many buttons, so I'm going to redo the teaching process to verify the learned signals. I wonder if that is ...

Help w/ creating a device upgrade for learned signals.
I have a space heater (built into my TV stand), and I taught my URC-7880 the IR signals from the OEM remote for the heater (under AUD).
I'm using the tutorial about creating custom device upgrades, but it looks like I need to identify the protocol and maybe some other information first, before it ...

I just don't know if I want to install the extender or not... because I don't know what it means overall lol. :oops: I assume you went to the trouble and expense of getting a BLED dongle in order to use it to program your remote over bluetooth with RMIR. In order to do that, you're going to have to ...

Now I do have the BLED bluetooth adapter coming in the mail today, so hopefully I can make some progress using the bluetooth adapter.
Please note that you have to install Extender 1.00 for the URC7880 before you can make full use of the BLED dongle. I have said elsewhere that you need a cable to ...

Something that is a bit confusing is that when I was looking into EFCs for the Shield using RMIR, the setup code according to RMIR was 0295 for the Shield for all four files available using the "File Search" tool. The confusing part is that 0295 did not appear to be a valid code under STB or GAME ...

Need help understanding what to do next URC-7880 Extender v1
Thank you guys so much for all of the help! This is the second time I'm making a huge effort to really get this stuff down.
I just received my BLED112 in the mail (hooray!), connected the remote, and have finished loading the extender to the remote.
I'm at the point in the directions in the ...

@Sandlotje,
unfortunately, there is nothing completely satisfying your all your requiements.
So I recommend my little project (also without budget restrictions). It is very cheap (fits your budget), and very capable. Drawback is that you have to build it yourself, and order the components. That is ...
