@snidely

I sent you a PM (private message) on Sunday which you have not yet picked up. As you are new to this website you may not know about PMs. You can open your messages with the link in the menu at the head of each forum thread. It is the middle link in the three lines of links you will see ...

I mentioned in an earlier post that I tried all 256 combinations for all my other equipment. My goal was to find interesting functions not on the original remote, and since I am retired now, I have time to spend looking for them. I found lots of debug menus on my LG monitor, for example.

Anyway ...

Thanks for the detailed explanation. It's starting to make more sense now.
I'll just keep filling up the upgrade editor for my Sony Amp.
I'm looking forward to see the changes in RMIR v2.08

So if the OBCs only go from 0 to 127, and I have 3 Sony20 and 2 Sony15 protocols, that would equal 640 EFCs ...

Yes - using setup 4285 for the key move then switching back to 2475 works great.

Are there still only 256 possible functions for each setup code, or did it jump way up using EFC5s?

Thanks for the links, MaskedMan. I found several EFCs that worked without changing setup from 2475.

Mathdon-Thanks so much for the info on getting my own EFCs!
It works great!

There is 1 EFC that doesn't seem to work. One of the HDMI buttons labeled MediaBox. The particulars are: sony20, dev 16 ...

Hi guys. I just wanted to thank the 3 of you for helping me out so much. Tommy Tyler sent me an IRWidget, and I got the FTDI JP1.x and JP1 adaptor from DIYGadget.

I soldered in the 6 pin header on my 7800 and didn't even pull up a pad. (I saw the old post at Remote Central). It was so cool to ...

Thanks for the links. I ordered the 6 pin headers and the JP1 adapter. Now all I need is the widget so I can use IRScope.

I can't determine who actually still sells it. Anybody know?

Thanks for your help. The problem was that I googled the 7880, and it popped me into build10, and that's what I started with. I knew that error message had to be wrong.

Now everything seems to be working fine after unzipping build10 over build 2
I just did a regular download after using the phone ...

Thanks for the quick response. I am new to RMIR, and there's lots to learn.

First, I want to make sure I'm starting RMIR correctly. I click on the RemoteMaster.jar file, and I get the message "Couldn't read protocols.init. Then I click on the rdf file, and it starts.

1) As per the message after ...

Regular download problems

I picked a good time to buy the 7880, since you recently got it working.
I was able to install the extender, and it works great.
The connection always works well, as does the raw download.
The upload works fine too.

The only problem I have now, is that after I use the phone app to add some VCRs not ...
