You don't say what version of Java you are using. My guess is that you are using 64-bit Java. The Delcom driver only works with 32-bit Java. For 64-bit Java you need this WinUSB driver .
Thanks Mathdon. I did fail to mention the drivers. The package that you linked to was the package that I had ...

Longtime JP1 user with issue
Bought several RS 2117s back in the day when they were giving them away at RS for $10 a piece. Anyway, I went to change the batteries on the remote earlier and when I hooked up the JP1 cable to upload my IR file I kept getting a "No Remotes Found" error.

Question from a long time JP1 user
Basically I discovered this community back in 2003 or 2004. I loved the concept and went in with a 15-2116. I loved that remote so much that, and some may remember this, when RS was literally giving the 2117's away in bins, I grabbed about 9 of them locally often for as little as $10 a pop.

If you're careful, you may be able to remove it by prying it apart. I've done it with success several times and I've also broken them several times. I'd buy a new one and have it handy just in case.
How did you go about prying it apart. Secondly, in the event that I break it where I can pick up a ...

Before you take your cable apart, make sure you have fresh batteries in the remote. I recently was convinced my cable was broken, and it turned out that the batteries were just too weak to power the download, even though the remote still worked.
Nah, the batteries are good its the frayed cable. I ...

Need help with opening the strain relief on IDC connector..
Recently I've been getting a 'SDA Being held low' (make sure there are batteries in the remote) error with my USB cable. Recently the cable worked but it had to be placed just right. Now it won't work at all. In looking at the cable I'm 99% sure that the problem is being caused by frayed wires where ...

RS 15-1994 For Sale........
[Update] - Remote has been sold.
I've got a ton of JP1 remotes already and I'm looking to downsize to free up some space. I was going to throw this on ebay but I figured I'd offer it to the JP1 community first.
I've got a 1994 in excellent physical and cosmetic condition (picture below). I ...

Need a little help on shifted functions........
I've checked the archives and haven't been able to piece together the correct solution.
I'm using the RS 2117 with extender/2.
On my CD button I have a Panasonic combo DVD/VCR player device upgrade. Due to the lack of keys on the 2117 I've shited all the DVD commands functions on the upgrade ...

Question on Radio Shack remotes.......
Are the 15-1994 & 15-1995 the only two RS (JP1) remotes with their own internal timer for devices without a sleep function of their own?
See I've been desperately looking for a 1994 thinking it's the only RS Jp1 remote with a built in timer for devices w/o a sleep function.
Methinks I may have ...
