Dave, I'm not at home now so I can't send the rmaster.err file, but I will when I can.

As for selecting the right Comm port in RMIR, I don't know where to set this. As I recall, there is a selection for the interface, and I've tried Auto and some other options like USB and Serial.

I got a USB cable (I believe from Tommy Tyler) many years ago and it worked fine. It's a white cable with two LEDs (Red and Green) and it says JP1.2/3 and Made in the USA on it.
