Sorry for the late reply but we were down watching a movie. In any case, WORKS GREAT! Checked all the buttons I had. Thanks so much for the fast reply Vicky! Wonderful!

I'll see if I cant add the mem A, mem B, and the aspect ratio buttons and upload it as complete.

Thanks again...great! :D :D

I uploaded an IR Scope file to the diagnostic forum if it will help in troubleshooting. It includes two waveforms. The first is the properly executed Lumagen Power On and the second waveform is that same key but passed to the 15-2117 Power button via a ToadTog toggle.

@vickyg-well the behavior isn't necessarily consistent across protocols. So it's more than a matter of adding a frame or two. For example, on my DVD power (NEC1) instead of two ditto frames the extender converts that to one repeat frame with a long lead out between (NEC2ish). For the Lumagen instead ...

Well, it certainly seems buggy. I've looked at the waveforms (direct key access vs calling through a ToadTog (or DSM) macro) and they are identical except for the leadout and the ditto/repeat pattern. In most of my equipment that changes the NEC1 protocol to decode to NEC2 but everything else ...

Special function messes up IR code

RMIR file is uploaded here . I am trying to include the discrete on/off functionality into a macro that relies on the extender protocols. I am using IR Scope to check my work. The problem device is the Lumagen (CD Video 0900). I have Discrete ON from the OEM remote mapped to the Sleep key on my 15 ...

Btw, did you try using my device upgrade? I programmed all the buttons from the remote as listed on the Moome link above. Key) Function 0) input select HDMI0 1) input select HDMI1
2) input select HDMI2 3) input select HDMI3 Reset) Reset audio A) RGB output mode B) By pass mode

I did try it ...

IR Widget was right that the protocol was NEC1 64. In the end the protocol I "created" and the std NEC1 in the 15-2117 both worked. I uploaded the MUX-HD.rmdu file to the forum here but it didn't show up (I suppose admin must review it first?). It's just a simple device upgrade mapping keys 1,2,3,4 ...

The one you linked to above? I looked at it but I'm at work right now. I will look at it tonight and reply here.

Is RM the same thing as RMIR?

You may want to update to the current version of IR Scope. It sounds like your current tools are a little dated.

I'll check but ALL the tools I'm using were just downloaded a day or so ago...maybe I accidentally got an old version in the dl. Nonetheless, I only needed to use KM and IR to do what ...

Thanks for the replies. I started down the IRScope path because I didn't know the protocol was NEC1. After using IR Widget, IRScope said the IRP form was "Undetermined". I assumed at that point further investigation was required to create a custom protocol of sorts.

I used KM because the last time ...

MUX-HD decode

This is for an HDMI switcher. I cannot get this to work with my 15-2117 remote and I'm at a loss for why. If the 15-2117 and the OEM remote waveforms match exactly are there any other troubleshooting options for making it work? Sorry if I didn't upload this all in the right format. I've been working ...

I'll try that. Haven't read or heard about the need to do that before now...but if it works for you I'll give it a try. I haven't been active on this project for the last four months or so. But thanks for the late reply.

I think I used the 1N4148. Let me search on Schottky and contemplate making up a new cable. I should note that this cable has worked fine on an IBM notebook and an older Dell 8400 desktop. It's just this new XPS desktop that's giving me trouble.

gfb107-The battery thing sounds interesting. I'll try a few of those ideas and let you know.

Mark-I built my own and used a 1K 1/4W (Radio Shack 271-1321). Which would would work best? Unfortunately, once I test the connector I fill it w/ hot melt glue which provides great strain relief but not so ...

What to do with a weak parallel port

It seems my parallel port voltage doesn't match my RS 15-2116 very well. Sometimes uploading works and sometimes it doesn't (either fails to see the remote or doesn't 'hang up' properly).

Is there anything I can do? The remote has fresh batteries. The computer is a Dell XPS desktop. I'm plugging ...
