OK my older computer that I had added a serial port died due to a bad power supply...
I currently have a NETBOOK or a LAPTOP neither have serial ports.
So I am looking for suggestions on a working UBS -> Serial adapter that will output enough power to power a FIRECRACKER module.
Any suggestions?

FWIW, UEI does make a very harmony-like remote called the Xsight. It has a color touch screen LCD, 18 devices, favorites with icons, USB interface and web based programming interface. The RF Touch model runs about $70 and competes with the $250 harmony 900. The Color model is quite a bit less and ...

China Clone vs OEM H688
I was told by a rep at Logitech / Harmony support the only way to tell the difference is.. if it is a 'True Harmony' in the battery area would be your serial number {as this is where the serial number is for most all the rest of the Harmony line of remotes}, the clones do not have this sticker, also ...

Re: Hello / Good By...
My wife loves her new 'Harmony 650', it is light weight and fits her hand, it also has the FOUR COLOR MULTI-FUNCTION BUTTON(S) buttons and single button "TV", "MOVIE",... yes it is limited to five devices but I was able to stretch it to six by teaching/adding my HD-DVD commands to my TV's setting ...

Hello / Good Bye...
I want to say thanks for all the years of support and hand holding that many have done to help me enjoy my home entertainment system!
From former hardware like the RePlay DVR and Toshiba HD-DVD players I find that I must move on to another programmable remote line.

Wanted: Bundle USB + Remote
The wife seems to hate most of the 'Harmony Remotes' as the ''Buttons are too small / too close together:
So I am looking for a "Bundled Package" of:
One: USB Vista / Win7 JP1.3 cable
And
One: "Lighted Key" 7 to 8 device remote that is close to layout/size of the former RCA RCU810.. But has the ...

WiFi Remote??
On a number of the newer 'Universal' BluRay disc's that allow an iPod Touch / iPhone to become a WiFi remote for your 'BDLive' enabled player!
So the question is.. how about a Networked/WiFi enabled remote?
I did some searches and found that there was ""SORT OF"" one on the market but the company ...

Another use for the Wii IR receiver?
Can the ir receiver for the Nintendo wii be used as a ir receiver for such devices as the 'Xantech IR Distribution System" ??
This 'Nintendo' device does not seem to be effected by "Plasma" TV's!
And is really low cost also. (but I don't want to damage mine if it has already been reported that it ...

Re: Harmony Remotes (vs) RCA RCU810 JP1.0
So I have to keep the RCA RCU810 remote even tho I have no memory space in them to add newer devices such as the Blu-Ray player...
I'd be curious to see how you managed to use up all the memory in the RCU810, what do you have installed?
And when I say "MEMORY FULL" it is the upgrade memory, I ...

Harmony Remotes (vs) RCA RCU810 JP1.0
I was looking at changing / replacing remotes and ended up purchasing a group of Harmony 688 (15 Device remotes) Web based programmable remotes..
But my wife hate these remotes as;
(1) the "KEYS ARE TOO SMALL"
(2) the printing in the LCD for these keys is hard to read..
And it seems that the ...
