My problem is that VHS tapes are being detected as S-VHS tapes sometimes for parts of tapes, sometimes for more than that. Just on a few tapes. So I don't think this will fix that?

So is the issue is with only some VHS tapes? What happens if you play these troublesome tapes on a standard VHS ...

I note from your later post you have the R02 variant (printed on battery compartment sticker). I may be able to get my hands on one to try out with my cable.

Edit: my adaptor cable works fine for URC-7145 R02 (without battery in remote). Download from remote and Raw download - no issues.

The pins on the remote (when right way up and viewing through the battery compartment) are in the format:

There is a one by that pin, so I guess this to be

Maybe something like Formerol/Sugru?
Alternatively you can mask it with narrow tape of adhesive rubber or neoprene.

For the UK remotes, I notice the JP1.x socket within the battery hatch will be shaped like an AA battery symbol/shape.
So Pins 5&6 will are on the end with the notch and pins 1&2 are on the flat end.
Eg using the AA battery shape pins 5&6 will be the +ve end, pins 1&2 on the -ve end.
ie from a ...

Thats great Rob, thank you.
I'll try the new rdf tomorrow and report back.

It looks good - I get the option to select which 3027 signature rdf to use.
I'll need to spend a little time customising it and check the button assignments works.

Thanks again

I may be wrong or misreading this
... I have tried all 4 different combinations of cable and adaptor, with and without batteries in the remote......
But are you using a JP1 adapter in addition to the JP1.x cable?
If so, then you should leave the JP1 adapter out and only use the cable to connect to ...

I am an occasional user and haven't visited these forums for years.
Thank You to the talented people at JP1 that makes this remote customisation possible.

I only use the basic functions of the JP1 software to add devices upgrades to my old remotes.

Although I know of extenders I dont use them.
I ...

DIY serial JP1.2/3 IC build
