Hello Rob!

The DLO dock cannot tell the difference between the two protocols as far as FWD and REV are concerned. The other commands that I tried worked well too. I'll continue to use the shorter protocol. Thanks!

Hello Rob!

I tried the Pronto style upgrade on my 8811. It worked fine for me, with FWD and REV buttons repeating when held down. When tapping FWD briefly, it goes to the next song. When tapping REV briefly, it goes to the beginning of the current song. If tapped again quickly, it goes to the ...

So if you TAP the >>| |<< buttons, they skip tracks, and if you HOLD them, they rewind and fast forward? That's good to know, because that's what we're trying to make the upgrade's buttons do (with great difficulty).

Fortunately, your Pronto learns are good clean learns, so they're very usable ...

Hello,

The Pronto does fast forward through a song exactly like the little DLO remote does when the buttons are held down.

Perhaps the folks at DLO get as confused as I do when they look at the various symbols that have been adopted by the AV industry. For the DLO device, the symbols with the ...

This is likely a little late to do much good since it seems that Rob and UEI have a good handle on the issues.

After disappointing results with my various OneForAlls, I tried my old Pronto. It works OK and from at least twice as far away as the little DLO remote.

I uploaded a basic version of my ...

DLO HomeDock Deluxe

Hello,

The tiny DLO remote range is about 7 feet if slightly off angle. Here's a temporary photo.

In an attempt to control the dock from a longer distance, I tried learning the remote's 18 buttons on my 8811. The learning ...

I won't be able to help much since I usually use my remote to change the channel during commercials. Perhaps it's time to see if the new PVR's can help with this tiresome task. Aside from the Kameleon (spell check not much help here!), the OFA remotes seem non-distinct to me.

I suppose that there are several flavors of HCS08. Do you know if security features are turned on? Can the flash area be dumped and disassembled?

How much is known about the code in JP1 remotes? Are the extenders complete code replacements? Is there more than just the bootloader in ROM?

I'm just ...

Also, these remotes are NOT JP1 compatible, because they use some sort of flash chip.

Ohhh.... Please say it's not soooo...

With all of the tremendous hurdles that have been overcome by several brilliant engineers in this forum, a new flash-chip algorithm seems like a bump in the road.

Hello Mark,

Yes, that is the exact Device Upgrade that I tried. On a strange note, the same process works with a Millennium B04 remote. Hmmm...

Here's the output from KM for the 8810 and Millennium. The Millennium works, the 8810 doesn't.

Hello,

To make a short story -- long, I managed to program the FAV key on an 8810 using Device Combiner. I was successful using KM version 8.30, but unsuccessful using Remote Master V1.08. The two programs offer different Upgrade Protocols as well as different Device Upgrades.

To keep things ...

Hello Mark,

As long as the PB protocol uses 1-byte commands, you should be able to use it with the DC on an 8810 (an S3C8 remote). From the DC help text:

Any protocols specified in the Device Combiner MUST use 1-byte function commands. P8 and M6-style remotes also require that the protocols ...

You're right. The pulse widths are all wrong as well. ...
I'll see if I have time a little later.

Thank you John. I was struggling with the PB documentation and finally cried "Uncle".

It was device number 162, not 160 (in the learned signals you posted). That is setup code CD/0032.

Hello John,

Have you tried the Akai protocol in either KM or RM.
No, I was put off by the weird frequency shown by IR. When I look at the protocol list in KM, where do I get to see that the carrier frequency will match up with what I've learned? Assuming that the carrier frequency of the AKAI ...

Hello Rob,

Also, just FYI, you don't need to use the extender just to make use of the fav/scan button. There is a special protocol that will let you program in most of the time.
I'd like to try the FAV/SCAN protocol, but I'm using a few non-native devices because the native ones don't have all of ...
