Do all URC-remotes have a USB-port?

Hello!

I got a tremendous amount of help in this forum by the Robman and others 3 years ago when I was first going to get a universal remote, and couldn't make head or tales of anything.

I ended getting a "Oneforall" (or URC?) remote which was very simple, but all I needed, called URC-6430.

Only ...

Yes, the year. Well, it's just that I can't see the TV in physical life. And the model I mentioned is the one for sale. I can't find those other models on the market here. Everything is 40" or over, and my tiny room just can't fit anything over 32".

But I found what I was looking for:

Many thanks, you guys!

I tried mdavej's suggestion.

The model I have seen is called Samsung UE32M5505.

On the link I tried, it said:

"We were unable to find a match for Samsung UE32M5505; however we did find 3 similar devices:

SAMSUNG UE32M5503
SAMSUNG UE32M5500
SAMSUNG UE32M5500AK"

So I guess ...

Can an IR-remote substitute for a Samsung Smart Remote?

Hello!

I was thinking of maybe getting another television. The one I am looking at is a Samsung. The only thing about that worries me, is that it has a weird remote control with only a few buttons on, called a Samsung Smart Remote.

Do you guys know if such TVs can be controlled by normal ...

As there is so much information out there, some folks are bewildered by it and think JP1 is too complicated for them, when in fact, if all you want to do is program your remote, it's actually very easy.

Thank you for your help. I decided to buy a URC-6430, because I couldn't wait over a month to ...

Bottom line, the whole point of JP1 is to make a universal remote work every button for every device in your system, and to help you create macros that make working the system seamless. So yeah, you're in the right place!

OK. Thank you Rob.

I think you're right, I expect I probably do need to ...

Robman, thank you so much for your advice! I really appreciate it very much, since I am on such unknown territory that don't know how to judge what are the things to do and to avoid.

Just to complete my possibly moronic questions, can I just ask if I have understood it correctly what a universal ...

Thank you Rob and 3FG!

Rob, thank you so much for your answer, and for the link! That was really nice of you. I am not sure I would dare buy a used remote, though, because I would be afraid that the buttons were worn, and would stop working soon.

Do you know, is the URC-6430 a JP1-USB remote, as ...

Can USB-remotes be programmed like JP1's can?

Hello!

I am a complete novice when it comes to universal remote controls.

I would like to buy a universal remote control to control two devices - my LG TV model 32LS570T and a PVR called Clint DC1. Both of the original remotes have a couple of buttons which have become almost impossible to ...
