Robman, your code worked. Mine would have yesterday, but somehow the code for the device got mucked up from 1130 to 1023 on the general tab of IR.

I just posted the file for the dual xd6100, but with the key codes back to my original that match the remote.

You're right the second protocol output didn't improve things at all. Time to re-read the beginner's guide and see just what dumb thing I'm doing wrong.

Went thru the process again and this time got a second output for the protocol portion. C&P it also. And will try it again in the RV tomorrow.

Thanks for the explanation on setup. I have put in random numbers there and started thinking that was part of the problem.

Well that didn't work.

But I would like some clarification as to where, who, what assigns the setup code, protocol ID, and fixed data? None of that info appears when I do the learning of the keys.

Is there some other process to fetch that info from the original remote? Or is it somehow ...

I have a Dual dash car radio in my RV. It has a tiny remote. I've gone thru the process of learning the keys. But when I program them into a URC8811 nothing operates the functions of the Dual radio.

I've taken the learned codes and saved the most useful 4 into the L1 to L4 keys on the 8811. Volume ...

Sometimes I find files that seem to have the functions locked or something. This is using Remote Master v1.38 under the functions tab. Delete is ghosted out. As a work around, I can rename them and change their codes though.

Is there flag to change somewhere to allow deleteing? An example is the ...

Changing the setup codes is the fix.

Tried the STR-DE885 file and looks like a good start. Volume, muting and other controls work. I'll proceed to learn the keys from the Sony remote and make a version for the keys on the str-de598 customized to my urc8810.

I just bought a new SONY receiver STR-DE598. I’m using a URC8810 learning remote. My previous Sony receiver only required putting in the manufacture code of 1058. But none of the manufacture codes listed in the URC8810 manual worked, (1058, 1158, 1258, 0158, or 0474).

The codes were:

RCA:07:58 EFC=227 (aka SAT/0392) SAT
RCA:13:58 EFC=227 (aka VCR/0202) LD
RCA:14:58 EFC=227 (aka VCR/0060) VCR
