Monoprice upgrades:

http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=category&cat_id=26

Most devices within a brand share the same codes across many model years, so an older model usually works fine. So always try that before you resort to learning.

It turns out that this monoprice switch ...

Picking Setup code for 2nd Tivo?

I just tried to add a second device with a different Unit ID for a second TiVo in the room. When I click OK to add the device, it says that the setup code is already in use.

How do I select a new setup code? Do I just add 1 to it? Are there others that should already be empty and not conflict in ...

Go to the macros tab.

Create new macro and name it.

Add commands for
TV: PowerOff
Soundbar: Mute

Because you are using Mute, you need to make sure all of your other activities include the "unmute" command.

Then go to your activity and for Power change from a device to the macro you created.

I created a macro called Turn All Off and mapped it to the power button in each activity.

It has commands to turn off each component and a final command to show the home screen on the remote. It has all off commands in it (not just ones from different activites). That way if I switch activities and ...

Luckily, I saved my Living Room rmir file before changing out the Onkyo. This was created on the EZ-RC site by putting in my Onkyo model number. TX-NR636.

I should not have put in Learn -> Upgrade. I didn't mean the function, but my manual work of creating an upgrade from a learn.

I was on the right track and did have an older version of that spreadsheet.

However, if I decode one of the commands that exist in my remote (like CBL/SAT), I get a ...

With the Monoprice upgrade, if I open the .txt file into a new device, the message I get is:

The upgrade file you are loading is for the remote "15-2117/15-2116". There is no remote with that exact name. Please choose the best match from the list below: (dropdown)
RS 15-2116

Learn -> Upgrade issues

I am trying to convert a Learn to an additional command on my Onkyo Device.

I learned the Game input and it shows up like this:
Size 24
Freq 38277
Protocol NEC1
Device 210
Sub Device 109
OBC 13
Hex Cmd 4F

None of these match the Onkyo I added via the web setup (to create my base config). It has a ...

Onkyo TX-NR636

If you link to the doc, please let me know how you found it. I would like to be as self sufficient as possible.

The HDMI switch I got is this one -

It is a 4X1 4K/3D capable switch.

I had to learn the game input button from my onkyo and was thinking about creating a whole new upgrade because I am having issues adding that one learn to my existing device (separate post coming on that).

I also just got a 5 port HDMI switcher from Monoprice that I assumed I would need to create ...

IR Widget or just use learning remote?

I am very happy so far with my Nevo C2 and am going to get a few more for other rooms in the house. I am trying to figure out if I should spend the $42 (including shipping) for an IR Widget or if I should just use learning on the C2 to create learns and then use the learns to create upgrades for my ...

Nevermind... This wasn't working, but originally, I created the macro to the Tivo. I just switched it to the TV and phantom button and it works now.

I created a "Power All Off" and assigned it to the TV and the "phantom" button.

It has a macro for turning everything off with discrete codes.

In ...

Exiting activites (or turn it all off)

I am moving from a Harmony Remote to a Nevo C2. So far, programming the remote is going well, but I think I am missing something fairly basic.

How do you shut down whatever is on during that activity? I tried to create a macro for the power button to shut off all of that activities items, but the ...
