3.0.17 works!

@mathdon
Many thanks for the update. It works as expected.
I took the corrected 28mod1 you provided earlier as a starting point and added the new activity "NAS via TV" including macro. The macro resulted in the desired and expected entry in activities.xcf, which was retained after uploading the ...

I always type my posts directly in the edit box on the web page. I tried to include the error message in my previous reply, but it didn?t go, even when enclosed in code tags. I will try to send it to you in a PM.
It does seem to relate to special character coding in iOS (or iPad OS).
I was unable to ...

Sorry, but I can't respond to your post. Here is the error I am getting:

I am using Windows 10 Pro x64 with 32-bit java. I am guessing you are on Linux, because no higher version of java is offered me on Windows, unless this is a confusion of the java versioning. The actual version of my java is 1.8_421, but they have been calling the java 1.x versions just 'java x' for ...

No problem; thanks for responding!
You have summed up the situation perfectly, and I am equally puzzled that the problem is not reproducible.
Since you have no problem with my file, I must assume that it is not corrupt.
The only thing I can think of that might be different between our two ...

Still no joy with 3.0.15

In RMIR 3.0.15 I cannot even add the desired new activity to Wohnzimmer28mod1. When I do so, activities.xcf once again shows the same type of error I have encountered every time I attempt to add an activity using RMIR 3.0.15:
05F68 <activity 01 15> 08 4E 00 41 00 53 00 20 00 76 00 69 00 61 00 20 00 ...

Problem solved!

The behaviour on the laptop screen is the same. I have uploaded the requested files here . There are few differences, none involving RMbounds in RemoteMaster.properties and none at all in the .rmir files (after all I didn't change the remote configuration).
After further reflection, I think I ...

In case it helps, I can confirm that RMIR 2.14.18 can also create a new activity with a working macro. This is the version I will be using for the time being.
The ignored "TV - right" command appears to be a timing problem.

RMIR GUI opens with the wrong size

I am still having a minor problem with the way the RMIR GUI opens. I reported a similar problem earlier in this thread.
What has changed:
I am now using Windows 10.
I am no longer switching between the laptop screen and an external monitor; I use only an external monitor at its native resolution of ...

New bug in RMIR 3.x

I have now reproduced the problem in RMIR 3.0.3, so I suspect that it was introduced in 3.0. I didn't bother to try 3.0 because I saw that there were important bug fixes in 3.0.1 and 3.0.3.
Existing activities are handled properly in 3.0.3, but the Activity Macro in a newly created activity fails ...

Well, I originally exported them so I could have a better idea of what I was selecting for my activities without resorting to trial and error on the remote.
When you select an icon for an activity in RMIR, the Icon Selector also features an Export option.
The exercise at least led me to recognize ...

Activity icons

In RMIR, I see 66 icons for activities.
If I export them, they appear to be in pairs, first a 28x28 pixel icon, followed by the same image 20x20 pixels. Is there some rhyme or reason behind this?
Furthermore, some of the images are duplicates. For example, the icons in the 6th position on the 8th ...

Bug in RMIR 3.0.15?

I don't have a problem adding a new activity (and activity macro) with version 2.14.16, which is the version I was using before upgrading to version 3.0.15. I have uploaded an RMIR file created with 2.14.16 to the diagnosis area. The only problem I have with it is that the second TV - cursor right ...
